Hi, I have Lyme MS and need to know if the following is dangerous or what I should think?
Currently I am on no antiobiotic treatment. I am taking Diflucan for Candida.
Current treatment and therapies include flucanazole for candidiasis. Low Dose Naltrexone at 4.5 mg to be added.
Remaining symptoms in waxing and waning cycles generally fall into the aggravated category:
Paresthesias of the Hands B/L Weakness of the Legs
The paresthesias of the hands is more than likely caused by nerve damage in the cervical spine. The last report states that there are no longer lesions in the c-spine, however, a follow up MRI has yet to be taken. The paresthesias is as old as August 05', and it remains.
Leg weakness is concerning for orthostatic hypotension which is commonly seen in patients with Late Stage Lyme Disease and or Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. I need clinical correlation to be sure. While Lyme Disease-Multiple Sclerosis is the more than likely consideration, there is a paternal family history of Atherosclerosis to be considered.
What do you think?

My question would be why are you not treating the lyme - MS with abx at this time?
I know a few people who have been diagnosed with MS first then lyme, 2 people I know are in wheelchairs and are getting better on abx treatment. One is actually able to stand now after being on abx for 6 months. (she was in a wheelchair for 20+ years)
The Atherosclerosis can be taken care of with IV EDTA.

Hi, I did 9 MO on ABX, insurance ran out, and then Doc said-if you want-take an ABX break (I was pretty much asymptomatic) aside from hand paresthesias. So, now, I am going to start ABX asap. I just hate how it causes Candida. I do not have arthro. My Dad did. I just remember his legs would get weak-so-it scared me. I will have to remain on orals (abx) cause I cannot afford the intramuscular injections of penicilin that he wants me to take for 2 years. New insurance, hopefully, will be supporting me soon and then it is HI-HO SILVER! I have also had some psychiatric problems from Lyme. Sometimes, though, I am not even sure if I have Lyme. It is all so confusing.
Thanks.

Most people with MS actually have Lyme and co-infections. Maybe you weren't on the right abx to make you better. Sometimes its a guessing game to see which abx works for you.
I posted something else today that mentioned MS & the co-infection Brucella, you might want to read it.
Crystalline Brucella and Multiple Sclerosis In 1998 in Rochester, New York, I met a former military man, PFC Donald Bentley, who gave me a document and told me: "I was in the US Army, and I was trained in bacteriological warfare. We were handling a bomb filled with brucellosis, only it wasn't brucellosis; it was a Brucella toxin in crystalline form. We were spraying it on the Chinese and North Koreans."
He showed me his certificate listing his training in chemical, biological and radiological warfare. Then he showed me 16 pages of documents given to him by the US military when he was discharged from the service. They linked brucellosis with multiple sclerosis, and stated in one section: "Veterans with multiple sclerosis, a kind of creeping paralysis developing to a degree of 10% or more disability within two years after separation from active service, may be presumed to be service-connected for disability compensation. Compensation is payable to eligible veterans whose disabilities are due to service." In other words: "If you become ill with multiple sclerosis, it is because you were handling this Brucella, and we will give you a pension. Don't go raising any fuss about it." In these documents, the government of the United States revealed evidence of the cause of multiple sclerosis, but they didn't make it known to the public--or to your doctor.
In a 1949 report, Drs Kyger and Haden suggested "the possibility that multiple sclerosis might be a central nervous system manifestation of chronic brucellosis".
Testing approximately 113 MS patients, they found that almost 95% also tested positive for Brucella.5 We have a document from a medical journal, which concludes that one out of 500 people who had brucellosis would develop what they call neurobrucellosis; in other words, brucellosis in the brain, where the Brucella settles in the lateral ventricles--where the disease multiple sclerosis is basically located.6 -------------------------------------------------

The reason you have Candidia in the first place is because your immune system is not working properly because of the infections. So you have to treat the lyme and build your immune system in order for the Candidia to get better.
"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."
Five Steps to Candida Elimination:
1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.
2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]
3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]
4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]
5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]
