It must be something other than Lyme. I mean unless you have Lyme no one seems to think its a big deal.

i think it is very common to feel that way, because such a small part of society really recognizes our pain as real. for the few who do believe we suffer, unless they have had lyme or lived with someone who has, they cannot possibly imagine how bad the pain can be. we start thinking it must be us, it must be something else, how can something hurt this bad and go so ignored. i do understand
peace, kathy

Yourtroubl, did you ever get any kind of decent pain medication from any of your docs? Seems like the last I checked, you were trying to get by on some pretty inadequte stuff....
Most of us have some kind of strong narcotic pain killers for flare-ups or to "break the cycle" of pain. Some people need narcotics every day in order to function. It's often just a reality, but hopefully only temporary while treatment has time to do its work.

The ducks told me it was so many other things for so long. Then, when it turned out almost all of my issues were from Lyme, I was sort of relieved.
But, like others said, most people who don't have it or know/live with someone who has it don't get it. They think if you take some ABX you will be fine.
It is normal to think that way b/c part of us is hoping for it to be something else that we can put a band-aid on and it will go away.
The part that boggles the mind (I think) is how one thing can cause so MANY symptoms and other problems.
I had a doctor tell me once that it is more likely to have 1 or 2 things causing all your symptoms or issues than it is to have 15 - 20 different things. That made sense to me. So when ever I start to think "oh, there has to be more going on," I go back to what she said.
Most the people here have almost all the same symptoms/issues and the underlying factor is Lyme.

I am so fortunate to have positive results from Quest, Igenex, and CDC-you'd think I wouldn't question the diagnosis-and yet-there are still times I wonder.
I insisted on an xray of my right hip-because of the pain of walking, sitting-it wakes me up at night-even with AMbien. A pain the radiates down my whole leg. I was sure it was fractured or something.
the xray was clear of abnormalities-I couldn't believe it. LLMD says it's probably lyme. And yet still I wonder...

See, my results were positive too. Health Department has been in contact with me twice.
However, ID duck as you say...said I just dont look like someone with Lyme.
Sometimes I hurt so much I think maybe I have bone cancer or something.
Some days are good...
Some days I can bear it mentally or physically. I so want to go back to work. My husband says how am I going to work when I cant even stand long enough to clean one room.
He wants me to file for SS. I love my job and it does me good. But I dont know what to do.
