May 12th Doors Open at 3 PM, Screening to Follow Tickets $10
Help Open Eye Pictures fund completion of their documentary. This upcoming documentary investigates the shocking human, scientific and political dimensions of Lyme disease. As the film delves into the lives of those who have been inalterably changed by the disease, a haunting picture emerges of our healthcare system and its ability to cope with a terror hiding under our skin.
GUEST SPEAKER: Ginger Savely, RN, FNP-C Filmmakers Plan to Be in Attendance
ABOUT LYME DISEASE The CDC documented over 23,000 new cases of Lyme disease in 2005, however they estimate that only 10% of cases are reported. Over 230,000 new cases a year is more than AIDS, West Nile Virus and Avian Flu combined.
Cases have been reported in 49 states.
It takes the average Lyme patient over four years and $60,000 to be diagnosed, and many are denied treatment.
Known as ``the great imitator,'' Lyme mimics ALS, Alzheimer's, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson's - a reason thousands go misdiagnosed each year.
Location: Alamo Downtown
Kid Policy: 18 and up; Children 6 and up will be allowed only with a parent or guardian. No children under the age of 6 will be allowed.

Thanks for passing this note along! If it were within 500 miles, I would probably make the trip. I have been very anxiously awaiting this film's release, and am glad to see that it is making progress!!!
Can't wait to hear about it!
