I have noticed when I herx my pain/symptoms go up,then after the herx I feel better than my baseline for about a day then I go back to my old baseline pain. For example, I keep a line graph of my pain on a scale of 1-10 for each day and it kind looks like a heart beat on a computer when I take an ABX.
(Baseline - Pain goes above baseline - Pain goes below baseline - Pain goes back to baseline) then repeat the process...

Byron, I have just started to have that same kind of experience. I am currently on clindamycin and tonic water (this is my 4th abx). My LLMD has us ramp up slowly to the dosage he wants us on and the same with adding something else to the protocol. This cycle seems to have started when I ramped up too fast this week with chorella....or is it because our basement flooded and we are expecting company for the next two weekends for son#2's college graduation and son#3's high school graduation!
I have had two cycles of a painful day followed by day in bed recouperating and feeling really great by the end of the day, then the next day kind of so-so, then the next painful again and the cycle started again.

I don't have that. After a herx, I feel slightly better until the next herx.

During my treatment Bryon,I would have intense herxing.
I fell below my original starting point.
After about a year,I started to feel better and would go up on the feeling better chart.I did not slip back to the bottom.
I would go up a bit and slide back a bit,but never to the lowest point.Gradually I climbed, with small set backs.
After about 2 years,I was put back on Doxy and BAM.I was taken way down and was put in zombie land for a couple of weeks.Must have mopped up those Bart lesions?
Things cleared and I returned feeling much better.I reached a new point.
Go slow and easy w. this stuff.Instead of having all bad days,I gradually had 1 out of 7,then 2 out of 7,then all bad,the every other day good days and the rest needed to repair and regroup.
We are like batteries w/ this recovery. In one day all the juice can be used w/ in an hour.Maybe we can go a full day w/ our charged batteries. My brain power and strength, energy were like the power in batteries.
You have to know when to lay low, recharge the battery and then know how far it will take you.
You also have days when those batteries are dead and it takes time for them to charge. Those are the days I read all day, sleep, read.I quess I read so much now because Lyme took that away from me too,for awhile, could not handle the comprehension.
Work your living around treatment, know when to schedule in low key events and enjoy.Know when to do the stressful things, when the mind/body can meet the challenge and not drain you so much.

I know what you mean, right now even after 4 months of oral ABX I still herx exactly 1.5-2 days after swallowing it. Everytime I start a new ABX it seems like I start bak at square one.
I was taking Biaxin 500mg once every third day and the herxes seemed to die down after about a month of being on it but now I took a 1/4th of a flagyl and i am in the herx of it right now. This herx on about 80mg of flagyl is about the same power as a 500mg of Biaxin, Powerful Stuff!
