My Dr. put me on charcoal recently and told me to take it 1/2 hour before my meds or 2 hours after them and food. She haid that if I take it before it won't absorb the things that come in after? What have you all heard? Also, does anyone know haow far to take garlic away from meds/ vitamins? Thanks, Nikki

Don't know all you are taking - here are some of what I used to take and the timing of it.

Garlic should be taken following the last bite of a meal. See my posts on garlic.

Fish Oil should be taken during dinner (with other fats, for absorption). Most everything else should be taken before meals, followed by a meal.

All microbial agents (killer agents), magnesium, mineral complex, liver and kidney supports, Tocotrienols, etc. shold be taken just before breakfast and dinner; adrenal support before just before meals, trace minerals just before meals.

All the heavy metal chelators and supports (DMSA, chlorella, Detox Max or Lipo Phos EDTA, cilantro, should be taken after dinner before bedtime.

Wild Blueberry (if you take it) should be taken with Vitamin C, after lunch, or before bedtime.
DHEA before breakfast.

If you take chlorella more than once during the day, it should be taken 30 minutes before meal. If taken when DMSA and other metal chelators are taken, chlorella can be taken at the same time with the chelators before bedtime.

Doctors' ideas differ, but that's what I used to do - following instructions by doctors who deal with this type of treatments.

I took charcoal only very short-time - never on a regular basis.

If you are soy allergic, as many people are (because it is in literally "everything"), be careful with any soy based products, such as DHEA. Find out what the stuff is made of. Any of these soy based products will not work well for you if you are allergic. Many people are and don't know it. Whatever substance one reacts to allergically will not serve the purpose as expected. It's best to get tested for some of these common foods that we eat all the time! It's often the kind we eat all the time, day in and day out, which stresses the body.

Take care.

P.S. Learn the Coca Pulse Test to see which foods you react to. Check pulse before meal. Eat substance. A half hour later check pulse again (counting out the full 60 seconds or using an electronic gadget.) If pulse rises more than 4 points, the food stresses the body.

Don't repeat the same foods constantly - wait at least four days before eating it again or not more than a couple times a week.

Take care.

Some say to take fish oil in the a.m. because it is easier to absorb fat earlier in the day. Some people will not even eat cheese after 3:00 pm.
