Hi,

If you are IGG positive, then do you always get abx treatment? Or is that only if you are having symptoms?

Is everyone who is bitten by a tick positive?

Kayda

I don't think everyone that was bitten by tick would be positive, it really depends on the amount of antibodies you and your immune system. And not many people have CDC positive tests no matter how sick they are. You have to look at which bands are present and if you are symptomatic.

My IGG was IND, I was symptomatic, and am getting better with abx treatment. I think doctors will only treat when you have symptoms. If you don't then why would you treat?

Hope this helps,
Lisi

I was IgG positive, but haven't been started on antibiotics (yet). (I had two IND bands on the IgM test and four positive bands on the IgG.) I do believe that I will be put on antibiotics down the line, but we are addressing some other issues first. I am symptomatic, but it's hard to tell what symptoms are caused by what right now. I also have elevated levels of three kinds of molds and my vitamin/elements are all out of balance. I may also have heavy metal exposure.

All my overall tests have been negative.

I also know that my body had stopped making antibodies by the mid-70's, as shown by the fact I had three rubella vaccinations, prior to becoming pregnant, and then following my first two pregnancies, and still nothing showed up on the titers run as standard procedure on pregnant women.

That's one thing that helped me trace my illness back as far as I have, to my early teens, if not before.

I AM being treated, and I am improving, so my LLMD and I know we are on the right track. So, to answer your question, no you don't have to have a positive any kind of test to be treated, if you have the history and symptoms to support it. An IND here and there on your tests, doesn't hurt, either.

Because Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis. The testing is only meant to be used as a supportive means to support the clinical diagnosis. It is not meant to be a conclusive, be all, end all confirmation.
