Hi All,
I took my 21 year old son to an endocrinologist for possible thyroid disfunction.Which he has many symptoms of....excessive sweating ..racing heart...weight gain... she felt it to be some what enlarged with a possible nodule..on it.And some insomnia.

Then he lifted his shirt and there were purple striae marks on him that she had never seen in her practice before.....not quite the appearance of stretch marks very, very purple.

Has anyone else had these marks and if so should he be tested for bart or are those tests as ify as alot of the other infection type tests.Interested to hear thoughts on this. Thanks RG

OH YES. My daughter had those before she was diagnosed. With Bart treatment, they went away.

She also gained 80 pounds within a few months. With diet (watching sugars and carbs) and treatment she has lost 50 pounds so far.

Get thee to an LLMD.

Kelly

Dear Radiogirl,

I have those all over my legs....Am currently treating for bart with rifampin.

So far, they haven't gone away.

I can still hope though!

Hugs,

Geneal

Hi RG,

Here are 2 photos of my rash that appeared 4 months ago. My LLMD thought they may be bartonella, my Internist said he thought

they may be straie marks.

I am now being treated for bartonella in case it is bartonella rash.

I am on my 3rd day or Rifampin, and nothing is happening, maybe they are straie marks.

The photos are at this message...

I want to show this RASH Bartonellla possiby how do I do it

Trish

My twin sons had them on their hips, underarms & inner thighs. They both gained some weight, but not enough to think they would have gotten regular stretch marks.

When they both started on Minocycline the marks eventually went away(it took a few months). Now they have scars where the marks used to be. They both had these marks for years, and they were bad.

Here is a pic of one looks like:
