hi all,
my dad understands lyme is serious because of my troubles with it. however, he still knows very little about it. he lives in suburban annapolis,md.
he was doing a lot of yardwork this week and happen to stumble across a rash under his right armpit. he called tonight to ask about it. i told him to go to the doctor and demand some doxy abx right away. he probably should also photograph the rash and keep a journal of how he feels for the next couple of days to make sure. hopefully its not lyme.

any other thoughts on what i should tell him to do?

regards,
electric

I would be sure the doxy is strong enough and long enough. I would rather play it safe and take doxy than wait to see if he tests positive for Lyme.

Let Dad know that his doctor will typically just give him 200 mg a day of Doxy.

That amount is NOT bacteriocidal -- i.e., it will not kill spirochetes.

He needs at least 400mg a day.

Also, his regular doctor is extremely unlikely to test for co-infections or even think of them.

An LLMD WILL.

Guaranteed.

Coinfections can be as disabling or worse than lyme. However, mainstream doctors routinely ignore and fail to address them at all. Odds are that he DID get at least one (the numbers are around 60% or so).

When he goes to the doc, let us know -- I'll be surprised if this isn't exactly how it goes.

Golden opportunity to see an LLMD!!

Good luck to him and hang tough with the ducks!

Put a moist activated charcoal patch on the rash area.

NOW.

It is messy. Get activated charcoal (cheap- most drugstores)and over a sink, carefully open the capsule.

Sprinkle the really fine black powder on a MOIST 4x4 gauze pad.

Apply that to the rash area and cover it with plastic wrap and using paper tape, hold it in place. Keeping it moist helps the skin absorb it.

Activated charcoal absorbs toxins.

The toxin that needs to be absorbed is glutamate.

Leave the bandage on for at least a day.

The area will be black, don't worry...it will go away in time or...

An oxyclean solution and a wash cloth help to remove the staining. Then rinse well.
