I know it is different for everyone, but would like to hear about experiences while on IV.

Did the herxes happen sooner than on orals? How long do they last?

Are the herxes any shorter when they do happen?

Just curious to hear personal experiences.

Thanks a bunch.

Some dizziness and increased headaches for me during IV.

However, nuthin' compared to the first several months of orals.

I suspect the initial treatment decimated the population of spirochetes such that IV was relatively easy compared to early treatment with orals.

I hope IV goes well for your hubby.

I have been on Rocephin and Zithro via IV for about 1 1/2 weeks. I would say I just feel VERY tired and a little flu like. I also have had an increase in my anxiety problems, but have read that others have experienced this with the Zithro. I am orally added Flagyl next week so that should be interested. I have been on Flagyl before but never the combination with IV's.

IV Rocephin put me to sleep for 6 months!!! I would sleep about 22 hours of the day- very narcoleptic- could NOT stay awake- was like drowning in sleep- would emerge hazily and be dragged back under by it- bedridden- and then one day in the 7th month things began to change- and then I got almost completely well after having been dying-*)!*)!! Happy Ending for now, happy life, a very happy life*)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have troubles like everyone else but I try and remember that this is ALL "gravy", even hard days, not hard physically anymore ever thank god!
I am so glad the pain is gone!!

It was six months of sleep for me.
And continued progression.
Slept, slept slept...
Thought I was dying- everyone did-

Anyway, people herx differently. I have only met a few sleepers like I was*)!!!!!!!!

I guess that's what I've been looking for......a herx reaction like he had on orals. Haven't seen that yet. Just a LOT of tiredness the last couple of days. It really hit him hard yesterday.

I do think his thinking/cognitive issues are slowly getting better.

I'm afraid to hope too much though.

Thanks all!

Hi Boomerang,

Glad to hear hubby isn't herxing to badly.

I am not either..just tired, but even that is starting to get somewhat better. My overall sleep has improved greatly.

I have dizziness off and on and some air hunger at night. Nothing that I can't deal with though. I do still hate the PICC though. I am having such skin problems from it. I have tryed everything to fix it. We might have to start using sterile gauze dressings.

How long is hubby going to do the PICC for?

Best wishes, kit
