Ever since my symptoms have become worse, my facial skin has really become irritated; I get little pustules (small, pin size) in clusters.

They hurt and itch at the same time and peel off when healed.

My skin also has a a dry/rough looking appearance on my chin, nose and forehead. It is really making me self conscious.

I never had issues with my skin before. I went to a dermatologist who said it was rosacea and gave me something topical to put on my face at night, but it seems like no matter what I do, it remains.

It seems as though when I have a particularly bad week of symptoms it freaks out!

I saw a nutritionist a few months ago who felt as though my body is overloaded with toxins and that this could definitely be a factor. Any suggestions?
Thanks! [Eek!]

Its a LD symptom. I have hypersensitive skin. Some rough & red patches on different body parts. Never had a skin problem b/f LD. LLMD says its part of the LD package. Most dermatologists have zero idea about this skin condition as a symptom of LD b/c they don't teach it in med school. Also, look for burning skin as part of this LD manifestation. It happened to me.

spookydew-my toenails are a little yellow but I wasn't sure if this was because I try to keep them painted most of the time?

Maybe pile on the omega 3s? Flaxseeds with lignans, evening primrose oil, and fish oil all have good reputations. Also, maybe higher SPF UVA/UVB sunblock, and better liver support. Whenever I try to save money on liver supplements, these dark sinkhole eyebags appear and my skin turns gray. Serious incentive to get back on the supplements.

I have had problems with excema aka dermatitis my whole life, but it has definitly gotten worse since I have had lyme. Please check to make sure whatever ointment they gave you does not contain

steroids, as many of them do and are not good for Lyme. Also, My skin has also had tiny pimples all over my face since I had lyme. I am 22 and had only had 2 pimples in my life prior to diagnosis so I understand its frustrating.

I developed a reddened, splotchy face about two years after I got sick, and I've been told it is definitely not rosacea. No one has been able to explain it. I chalk it up to the Lyme, or one or more of the co-infections.

I also get this scaly, bumpy, patchy rash on my arms mostly. It's so gross. I've been told it's not eczema.

Rashes were my first symptom after the latest "bite."

After messing around for over a year trying various things on my skin, I have found the following combination that helps me the best:

1) I soap down in the shower with Wisdom Natural's Cream of Coco and let it sit for a minute before rinsing off. It seems to leave a residue, but it controls the itchiness pretty good. I suspect it is controlling bacterial infections in the skin, but who knows? (And it doesn't cost a fortune!)

2) Then I apply Abkit's CamoCare C-Spot to all the places that look infected, red, itchy or lumpy. It seems to help speed healing and calm down irritable spots. (Not as low in price, but it works for me.)

There are lots of other things I have tried, but basically I get allergic reactions to almost everything, so maybe this combination will be helpful to others with sensitive skin.
