I started taking Xango Mangosteen juice. I took about 3 TBS. and about five hours later I started a major herx.
It was the same symptoms as when I herx on mepron or diflucan. It was so strong I thought I was going to have to go to the ER.
I had air hunger, anxiety attack, tingling in my arms, and lots of GI grumblings.
Anyone else get a herx like this?

Hi -- I'm sure lymetoo will come on here soon! For now, my sense is that the Xango is the strongest version of the mangosteen juices. I actually am still getting a headache from the smallest little amount of it. I guess that's the herx? Maybe some of us need a less strong version for awhile? The Ultra version still works for me.

It is my humble opinion that anything we try should be as a small dose so as to avoid the big herx experience.

And also, you need to drink a lot of water with it.

When I started drinking Xango, I also had headaches from it.

I believe this is a "detoxing" symptom.

Mine went away in 3 days.

A Lyme naturopath was the one who recommended Xango to me. She knew I was very sensitive to all kinds of supplements and meds.

She had me start with literally a drop of Xango and I got a headache from that! A detox reaction, I believe.

I built up very slowly, over time, until I could finally take a shot-glass full, but that was after a very long time.

I honestly don't know if it was a Lyme/coinfection or yeast die-off or what, but definitely something died!

Ditto for me! Now I RARELY ever have any headaches and my migraines are non-existent.

Glad it's working so well for you, surg!! [Smile] Guess you need to cut back a bit!

This is interesting because I have been reading Bryan Rosner's new book the top 10 lyme treatments and he talks about xango as one of the best supplements http://www.lymebook.com/top10book . I wasn't sure if I would try it yet, but if it makes you herx that much, I reckon I'll give it a go!

For some strange reason, it had the opposite affect on me. I bought a bottle of Xango from a friend and the next day I was outside doing yard work.

My husband came home from a trip and was shocked to see me with a little bit of energy.

I never experienced the headache. At six months, I got rid of my sleep meds which has been the biggest thing it has done for me.
