I have neuro-lyme , and wanted to ask for those of you with it, what was worked best for you?

I'm sort of struggling right now, as I haven't been on a consistent course of abx since last August, and my llmd has been trying to wean me off.

The problem is, the longer i go off, the more neuro symptoms i have. It's worst at night and in the morning. Some nights it feels like the side of my face is tingling, scalp, fingertips, buzzing in legs, poor memory, etc.

My legs also feel weak and shakey at times.

Just wanted to ask what has worked for you, and if there's any good ideas on supplements and meds for neuro lyme. Thanks.

For me IV ceftriaxone for two months followd by one month of clindamycin IV worked best for my neuro lyme...

You may want to pulse metronidazole while on the IV's.

If you don't want to go there you may want to try a fleuroquinalone to get past the blood brain barrier like oral CIPRO.

You may also may want to take some codliver oil Omega Three oil stuff or even some Ginko.
In any case you must exercise your brain daily(as rigidly as you can).

You're boing to have to re-train those brain cells that have been mutated by this infection or train new ones that have taken the dead cells place.

Daily oral high-dose amoxicillin is helping my neurolyme symptoms.

I take 10.5 g/day of amoxy, half in the morning and half at night.

You constantly have to watch for yeast, but otherwise, I have not had stomach problems with this amount. I take alot of probiotics all the time throughout the day.

It is a bit of work to take so many pills -- the amoxy and probiotics, but it has helped alot.

Empirically, Bicillin LA (Penicillin G Benzathine) has been shown to work over time. It has for me.

Hi skimpbiz

Just wanted to say sorry you are having problems with neuro lyme. [Frown] This has always been one of my worst symptoms. Can I ask why is your doc weening you off abx if you are still having so many problems?

I am not on abx for a year now becasue of my stomach. I have been doing rife & feel its keeping me somewhat stable for now but would go back on abx in a heart beat because in the 12 years of treatment this has always helped the most.

I Have been on so many different abx over the years its really hard to pick just one. I can say that combos have worked well & treating the co-infections has helped also.

Here's a link in abx that cross the blood brain barrior:

hope you can feel better soon [group hug]
