The Baltimore Sun article that came out recently had quite a lot of errors in it. Tons actually.

I wrote a reference document and sent it to the Baltimore Sun newspaper ... 22 pages long... that disputed nearly every word said in the article... with links and official quotes and sites for references.

The ONLY thing I didn't check out was the doctor. Till now.

They claimed in the article that he was sharing "expert advise"... AND that he was a pediatrician AND an infectious disease specialist.

YOU DECIDE who's pulling whose leg!!

Is he really a Pediatrician? Is he really an Infectious Disease Specialist? Does he really even treat Lyme patients like the reporter told me he did?

The website for University of Maryland AND the official Board of Physicians web site don't have any mention that he is either. Looks to me like he is actually a board certified Internist?

The Board of Physicians website also didn't confirm any training or certification as a pediatrician or an infectious disease doctor:

I think we need to ask the Baltimore Sun who is pulling whose leg? Especially since the information was so BAD!

[email protected]

````````````````````````````````````````````````
MAYBE this will help stop some of the BAD information going out to unsuspecting people.
Thanks!!!!
Wonder what criterion is used to define "expert" at anything.....
I guess that makes me an expert at lots of things like cleaning the toilet....
Kind of applies here doesn't it?
Sheesh....
When my husband was going to need surgery for cancer we checked and found out that in some States you do not need any special training do be called a surgeon or to put out a shingle claiming that you are any other specialist. YIKES!!!!! You can bet we did some pretty careful checking before we hired a surgeon.
My understanding is that medical training provides a rotation in most areas and that is supposedly enough in some States. I don't know about the State that he practices in.
