I'm going to use zith along with mepron against babesia soon (I have started the zith, and waiting for the mepron). And I'm wondering what the dose should be.

I see that Burrascano writes that you should take 500-1200mg/day.

I'm on 1000mg/day, but it's oral and not IV. It's normal to be able to take meds better if they are IV.. In the burrascano guidelines it doesn't say if the meds must be delivered in a specific route, at certain doses.

Does anyone know if it's safe to use 1000mg/day when it's oral? (standard 4 month cure).

What was/is your dosage of azithromycin?

I have been on oral 500 mg per day of Azithromycin plus 1000 mg of metronidazole per day for the last 6 months.

My doctor thinks this treats both lyme and babs.
I am not convinced.

I took 600mg of zith a day along with malarone, bactrim ds, diflucan and flagyl.

I should add I only weigh about 105lbs.

Good luck.

I am on 250mg of Zithro a day along w/ 1 Malarone for babs. I was on 500mg of Zithro, but due to ears ringing my LLMD told me to cut it in half.

Seems like some people here are taking really high doses!

So are all you guys on hydroxychloroquine or amantadine with your Biaxin/Zith?

or are you just taking Zith/Biaxin for Mepron drug resistance - so just treating the Babs not Lyme?
