Hi every since I have had Lyme I have had this odd pressure in my head behind my eyes. And the abx's seem to make it go away. My LLMD had me switch to Rifampin to make sure I don't have bartonela or whatever it is called. Once I switched my abx's to make sure I don't have bartonela my symptoms began to get worse again. Almost as bad as before I saw my LLMD. So I'm back on my old ABX's and doing better. But I have noticed that I get this pressure like blood is having issues passing through my temples. And this morning a red rash or pimples broke out at the same time I had the pressure behind my eye and in my temple. The rash/pimples went from my eye brow to my temple. I've been having rash issues since I went on the rifampin. But they are going away since I'm on the Zithromax and Flagel abx. I'm almost feeling 60% better again I think. But this pressure is kind of of scaring me. Since it is in my head. And the rash that broke out with it. Kind of thinking a blood vessel is going to break. But what about the rash? Is this a sign of my blood thickening?? Quagulating or whatever it's called. Sorry I'm at work, and I don't have my doctors notes.

ever since I have had lyme disease I have had pressure in my temples and I can describe that exact same feeling you used, like blood is having a hard time getting through...

So far it has not improved with almost 6 months of ABX and it gets worse when herxing for me... I do not have the rash though, never have but I know some people on here get rashes on different areas of their body from lyme disease...

Have you had a MRI of your head/brain just to make sure there is nothing wrong?

Going out on a limb here. What about shingles/herpes zoster?

Ya before I started taking the abx's to help with Lyme I was getting odd rashes other than my target rash. they would start in my lower legs or arms then move around. but once I was on the abx;s they went away.

Herpies?? can cause the pressure? I don't think I have herpies. I don't have any sores in my mouth. I have a girl friend herpies. But we never kissed. we are just friends. wonder if I drank after her or something. I think I would know if I had herpies. But who knows. Thats scarry. Great thats all I need. Herpies in my head.

Shingles is a different kind of "herpes"...it is related to chicken pox. It lives in the CSF and attacks at times of stress, illness or immunosuppression. The "sores" follow the nerve pathways.

Google it.

I have had no pain. Like shingles. Just pressure there. What's weird is how the bumps are symmetrical. On both sides of my head between my eye brow and my temple. My LLMD gave me Clindagel for my other rashes. I may try that later. The bumps have gone down through out the day. And the pressure has also. It's weird that it is on both sides of my head now. never was like that in the past. And all and all I feel better. More alert and able to work without a problem. No confusion and my memory is doing OK. At least short term. At least as far as I can tell. I'm actually going out tonight for a change!

If you rub around your temple area is it sore?

also, start around where your sideburn would be and go up 2-4 inches and rub deeply in that area, Does It Hurt? If it does, there are muscles in that area, I may have just discovered that my chronic headaches may be from muscle tension... I am going to spend alot of time looking into this...

tfstl ~

I'm also taking a wild guess, ok? It sounds like you probably do have Bart. Sorry

Maybe the headache and rash are the Rifampin bringing it out?

I have never taken Rifampin but know that headache, intimately. I have no idea how the treatment would work or how long until those symptoms resolve. Byron has described it very accurately.

I did do a short course of Levaquin in an attempt to hit Bart and had increased headaches the entire time and lots of eyes stuff.

I wonder if you can go at Bart tx easier or not. (This obviously not a subject I know much about.) Perhaps something to talk to the LLMD about in future.

Good luck! My brain MRI had no brain, I think. [Wink]

Tfstl,

I think I may have the same rash!- Happy to know I'm not the only one- just thought that they were little pimples, then I noticed that I had red marks above BOTH eyebrows- towards the temples-

I am having a herx week after going on Doxy for an unrelated procedure...was on amoxi and feeling quite fine...however the surgery also involved an iodine tracer so wonder whether the iodine in my system could have caused the herx...?

Has your rash gone away? Do you think it's bart?

I know that I have lots of facial nerve involvement- hopefully this is a sign that our bodies is killing it off in these nerves!
