I had e-mailed QTonic about a month ago and they hadn't responded. I thought maybe they didn't care to work with the "little guys." Anyway I received a response today.
Looks like New York is going to be the first place to be stocking it. They also say they'll send a sample bottle. So, we'll be asking the LLMD his opinion and send away for the free bottle.
QTonics letter is below:
At long last, I've got good news for you: we just finished our first major run of Q Tonic and it's now available at 4 charter locations in the New York City area
+ Gramercy Tavern
+ Milk & Honey
+ Little Branch
+ Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
If you're up in NYC, I encourage you to stop in and try it out. I'd love to hear what you think of it. If you don't make it, don't fret. Later this summer we're expanding the number and range of places that carry Q Tonic. Even better, to tide you over, if you send me your mailing address, we'll put a sample bottle in the mail. That said, we could also use your help - if you like the Q Tonic and had a specific place in mind near you that you think would be appropriate for carrying Q Tonic, please let me know. Or even better, ask them to contact me at the info below and then we can arrange for them to carry Q Tonic.

I registered with them too when you brought it up a month ago and I have been getting emails regularly. It seems they are just starting up. I wish there was a way to buy their stuff out here on the West Coast.

I gave them the name of small chain health food store in southern California and hope they'll follow up. I'm also going to talk to the owner of the chain and see if the product interests them. They're always getting interesting products. If the LLMD gives the okay maybe the owner of the health food chain will be able to buy a case for me.

I don't typically drink this stuff as a matter of health (There's a 365 brand bottled for whole foods that has no high fructose corn syrup, but it does have a lot of cane sugar. Tastes pretty great and I'm mostly just worried about the calories!). However, I'd welcome something a bit healthier and with the finest ingredients. Real quinine can only be beneficial. I expect this to be pricey, but hope it shows up in Maryland soon.
If anyone gets in contact with these people again, ask if they'd be willing to do a distribution deal with Whole Foods? That's a major national chain that would be able to get the product out there.
Thanks for the info!
