I'm starting to notice more teeny, tiny red dots scattered all over my body, but concentrated in certain areas more so than others - over my thymus gland on my chest, temples, groin, a few on my arms and my legs and stomach as well.

They aren't even the size of a pin head. They almost look like someone pricked me with a pin and I bled just a teeny, tiny drop, they wiped it off, and then the pin hole was all you could see.

I have these 'pin holes' all over. If I squeeze them, they go flat. They were only slightly raised to begin with though. You wouldn't even notice them unless you were looking for them.

I also noticed over the winter that I was starting to get more freckles concentrated in various places, such as the groin. I thought this was strange as my groin got virtually NO sun exposure.

Today I noticed my chest (near my thymus), which has been sweating a lot, has a whole bunch more freckles - and red dots as described above. I'm also noticing more in my groin (where I also sweat a lot). Temples, groin, chest - those are my sweaty spots.

Does anybody else on here have these red dots or a heavy concentration of freckles on areas that sweat profusely?

This is scary. I feel like I'm polka-dotted anymore. I know I have coinfections.

Hi Tailz, I've had the little red dots popping up for the first time this year, too. I think it's caused by babs as well, but I've never had them till now.

As far as freckles go - I've had some areas of hyperpigmentation appearing... almost like freckles. I'm wondering if it's signaling a need to focus more on detox? Just a thought.

Polka-dotted with you,
Cactus

I think it's babs, too. I have dozens of mosquito bites on me at any given moment in the summer.

I wouldn't blame the red dots on being overweight though - I only weigh 96 lbs, and I have them. Most of them appeared within the last year, too, though I had a couple of stray ones before that.

Yes, I have them too! I have been wondering what they can be, annoying little polka-dots! Have no idea why they have appeared though.

Sorry, can't tell why it happens. I hope it will disappear sooner or later.

cheers, Sigrid [Smile]

I talked to my llmd about mine last visit. He said that for me it was from Babesia, but some people get them from the abx their on.

Mine are mainly on my chest, stomach, and arms. I only weight 105, so I would not say that overweight women have them. Before I got sick I was 20lbs heavier and had none.

I just started to get them about 10 days ago...on stomach, thighs, and arms.

What antibiotic did your LLMD say could cause this?

Just curious. I am hoping to return to babesia treatment this week after visit with LLMD.

Hugs,

Geneal

Darn. I'm even more convinced it's from babesia now. I know it has nothing to do with being overweight - I've always been underweight. I'm about 95 lbs now. I've lost some weight since the temperatures warmed.

A year ago around this time though I had dropped to a dangerous 88 lbs, was ravenously hungry, and was eating 5 times what I'm eating right now even - I think my bugs were feasting instead of me. This means they are feasting again.

But I actually have a 'string' of polka dots running along what once was a prominent inflammed blood vessel running from my left breast towards my groin. That blood vessel went down some, but I still have a road map of inflammed blood vessels over my heart, left breast, and down my left shoulder.

I need babs treatment desperately - I think that's why the abx make me so sick. I skipped my zithromax last night and tonight again - it makes me nervous and jittery. I think it triggers babs. Same with Ceftin.

I have gotten off and on little pink slightly raised dots.

they come and go and i have only had them for a year or so and they are not all over...

i always have bigger problems than being dotted to deal with so i always forget to ask my dr about it...

if they are present next time i will.

Hi Tailz

Babs can cause spots similar to what you
discribe-- but other thing also cause this-

If you can take a picture and post if you can--

Do the spots Itch ?

when spots are scratched do you get a nerve
reaction where you fell the scratch in other places?

Like scratch spot on your arm and feel it on your Back?

When spots are on a joint area dose that
joint hert? -Jay-

I wish I could take a picture - no digital camera. I think it's petechiae. Here - it looks like this - I found a pic on the net.

http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en-commons/thumb/d/d6/300px-Minor_Petechia.jpg

They don't itch, hurt, nothing. They just started popping up, especially over maybe the last 2 years. I had a stray one here or there before that, but now I can find one wherever I look now. They aren't big - you really have to look for them.

In fact, I think I had one of these on my bottom lip in the past. I had to have it cauterized twice - I was told it was a burst blood vessel. I have to wonder though if these broken capillaries, or whatever they are, are in my brain. Feels like it most days.

I even tried squeezing them. If I squeeze them, they go away. They don't even really bleed - they just vanish. Most of the time.

I know everybody here is going to think I'm weird, but my pain for much of this at least started left-sided.

I have had moles removed from the LEFT side of my scalp and the LEFT side of my nose (the nose one grew back, but I attempted my own removal last night since insurance won't pay). And my teeth would be perfect (before Lyme anyway) if it weren't for a crooked, bottom LEFT canine tooth.

I think moles and crooked teeth are Lyme-related now, too. Nothing at all with me has turned out to be coincidence. Why would my lefty moles be?
