This is just something I wanted to share with everyone....
I'm glad I opted for the port for IV meds. I did have some complications with pain after surgery, however, it's now working out awesome!
I took the needle out on Friday and I'm free to take a shower, go to the pool, beach etc (not that I feel good enough lol). Also, I don't feel so bad as far as germs getting in the line when the needle is out. (I'm really creeped out by public places and open lines etc).
I'm actually gonna go grocery shopping today for the first time in a month AFTER I take a shower
I was so confused at first between the PICC/port process, but I can gladly say that even though I will have a little scar I'm VERY happy with my decision!
I will say that the first HH nurse I got was bad, so bad I had to call the company and get a new one. She was sweating all over the place and I had to ASK her to put gloves on, EGADS!
If anyone has any questions about the port, please feel free to contact me. I know this can be really confusing
