Hi everyone,
I have gotten worse with asthma, and now react to the tiniest bits of perfume into a full blown asthma attack. I never had this before,
2 years ago, I use to sit by the gas fireplace in the house here, I live with family, and I was FINE, no asthma from it, never made me sick.
I am now sick from it, and it is tough because the whole house wanted the fireplace on in the Winter, talk about stress, they were good about it, but still winned to have it on, sometimes, so anyways...
I am getting worse, this symptom, and I think it is lyme. I have to face this, I am WORSE.
I am doing Bartonella with the rifampin, but it is not going well, I also am now itchy from Ivory soap bar I use on face, I use to use the facial cleansers from beauty salons, but I stopped because I reacted,
So now, I am worse, the skin is more sensitive, and the face, and now asthma from perfumes.
Has anyone had this from lyme?
I treat candida, and I have treated babesia, and I am still like this. I think I need some strong orals... or IV, I had went off antibiotics for 7 months treating with herbals 2 years ago, and i have not recovered to the way I was before I went off them.
It is so nerve racking, if they use the crazy glue, I can smell it upstairs, I want to move out as soon as I can, so I can have own place, but am getting worse.
I think it is my immune, I am worse, and I think once I figure out if this Rifampin is going to help me, I will then know if it is either, lyme or babesia,
I think it is lyme.
anyone have this from lyme? I never needed an inhaler from perfume 2 years ago. I have had lyme about 15 years untreated, then start to treat 3 years ago or so. My brain is pretty bad too, dont think it is Bartonella, it was better on Doxy and Biaxin, but then these bart marks and here I am,
Sorry to whine, want to find out who else was like this and what they did,
Trish

For the skin, try glycerin and/or olive oil bars. I find them at Whole Foods.
the chem smell stuff.....goes right to the brain and liver. Maybe more detoxing? There is a website that recommends pantethine and molybdenum to help liver detox better (if I find it, I will post). Also, the Pekana drainage remedies.
Having said that, artificial smells still get to me....they stink . I just dont get sick from them like before.

I have had chemical sensitivity since before lyme, though tests have not detected it's really asthma, i think they called it an aspecific hypersensitivity or something like that. Anyway, I have had a real hard time with abx because of that, because the medication seem to exacerbate the problem.
This may not be the same as you have but I suggest you look into the meds you are taking, maybe try to slow down a bit and see what happens. For the face, do like me, don't use soap, just water, trust me, noone will notice the difference. I can't stand perfume either, there are some without alcohol, though very few, you might be able to wear those

Trish, I've been doing some research for my brother's breathing issues (he does not have Lyme)......
Several posters on this board have reported that they got relief from respiratory problems using the Cisca Salt Pipe. I think the cost to order one from the U.K. is about $70, including shipping. I know that one of the things the Cisca Salt Pipe is supposed to help with is asthma.
You might try to use the search feature here on the LymeNet board to find references to ``salt pipe'' so you can read others' experiences.

I use the Sali Pipe from the UK, probably the same thing. IT cost me about $57 including shipping a little over a year ago. Helps tremendously. Jim

my 4-06 complete body labs last year showed i have mold/other sensitivities, so they sent me to ALLERGY ASSOCIATES in LaCrosse, Wisc. where they tested me with many different smells and seeing if my skin reacted and to what.
then they made up "allergin sublinqual going UNDER THE TONGUE" holding for 20-30 seconds before swallowing. helped some. i must have some mold at home since after testing 4-5 areas got really large then, and i had to send in more results.
after my hip surgery, i just stopped taking many things since i kept FORGETTING! i don't notice any difference.
TERRIBLY ALLERGIC TO ALL SMELLS! i'm like above poster. so i'm happy home and on pc, lymenet board!

Two words: FOOD ALLERGIES!
I am so far only testing positive for Lyme, and have yet to test positive for any coinfections. BUT I have managed to reduce the number of full-blown asthmatic attacks by eliminating MANY foods from my diet alone.
This would include ALL grains, All dairy (even organic milk), EGGS!, soy, corn, meat, fish, chocolate, seeds, yeast. I'm probably leaving some out here.
But I was having SEVERE asthmatic reactions to all of these. I even went to the ER with 93% oxygen levels and had bluish gums and lips many times. In fact, I found I was allergic to the latex tubing they were giving me oxygen with. It's written in my records, "Patient keeps removing oxygen stating that she can't breathe."
I never got hives either. Nor could they find anything physically to prove I was having difficulty breathing because my O2 levels would fluctuate.
I can only eat salads now (and occasional peanut butter) - and only certain veggies at that. Some veggies even make me sick. Actually, most HIGH IRON/COPPER foods make me sick in general. I can only drink Welch's grape juice and WHITE grapefruit juice.
I eat only whole, single-ingredient foods, and basically, if it has anything added other than salt, water, or ascorbic acid (vitamin C), it makes me sick.
I have eliminated most common household detergents and no longer use regular shampoos, deodorants, etc...
If you are allergic to a food ingredient, please remember you can absorb it through your skin, too.
Try 100% pure olive oil soap. I use Desert Essence Shampoos and Conditioners. I use calcium ascorbate crystals to brush my teeth or Ipsab Powder.
I use Sun and Earth Brand Laundry Detergent. I no longer use dryer sheets or fabric softener.
I also have switched to Bon Ami Cleanser (as opposed to Comet). I found that the chlorine was giving me an asthmatic attack.
I used to have asthmatic attacks in the shower, but after buying a shower filter that removes chlorine and PCBs, I no longer do. You can buy a good shower filter for around $70.
Be careful, too - you can react to even natural ingredients - like Pine Sol was a biggie for me. I looked green after using that one. Try Murphey's Oil Soap instead. Sun and Earth makes dish soap and sprays, too.
I'm also guessing you are toxic. Spirulina has helped some. Baking soda baths at least once daily are a must!
I had this really, really bad. Message me if you need to!
It was hell for me, but I am much improved compared to where I was a year ago.
Your immune system is telling you to get as many toxins out of your environment - most likely because your liver is taxed and possibly iron and/or copper toxic.
By the way, 100% grape juice is excellent for the liver.
