I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how the sun affects Lyme??
I am out in the sun ALOT in the summer, when I am feeling up to it, that is, and am mostly darkly tanned...
But the other day, I was sitting outside with hubby, taking a break from some yard work, and felat this burning sensation on my stomach.
Stomach was fully covered and thought it was probably just because I had on a black tank top...
Later on that evening, I went to jump into shower to cool off and that same exact spot where I felt all the heat looked like I had burned it with hot water???
Now, 2 days later, it looks kind of like a Lyme rash, not bulls-eye though...
Could this have been some spirochetes close to the surface that caused this??
I am definitely confused and kinda "weirded out" by what happened... Anyone knew what could have caused it??
Thanks

What meds are you on? Many lyme drugs can cause a reaction when exposed to the sun to long.

Meds, especially doxycycline, can cause you to be sun-sensitive. When I first went on doxy the back of my hands got sunburned (never in my life had that happened before) but my duck thought it was an allergic reaction so he took me off the doxy - then I got REALLY sick and he wouldn't put me back on it.
You have to be very careful being out in the sun when you're on doxy!

Oooppps. sorry about that... I am not right now, on any antibiotics or any meds for that matter..
I have not even had my first LLMD appt yet, though I know that is what it is...
I know that there are alot of antibiotics out there that react with the sun, but that can not be it, bc as I said, I am not on any at this time...

I got mystery rashes before I started treatment. Mine would usually be on the scalp.
