When I took these antibiotics, something strange happened:

* cephtriaxone
* flagyl (along with ceph)
* minocycline

the first 5-6 days after taking them I felt a lot better. I was relieved of many of my symptoms. But it only lasted 5-6 days,

Along with feeling better, I also felt that some symtoms got stronger, and more pronounced (but all-in-all it was a very positive)

It all returned to normal after that short period of time had passed.

Have anyone else felt this??

If you have any theory of what it might be, please tell me.

I don't think of it as a normal herx, as I actually felt better, and not worse, all-in-all.(but it might be, I don't know)

editthe symptoms which got better was that I got clearer in my head. and I was able to feel again (in general) for the very first time in many many years. The symptoms which got worse was the rest (many diffuse symptoms).

Don't forget Pete'y...these symptoms will wax and wane on their own monthly...

Also...the ceftriaxone may have chased the spirochetes into a cyst form...then the flagyl knocked them open again and the tetracycline killed the chettes once more...

So you should have had a roller coaster ride....which is what happened...seems like it ended on a herx note....still not bad even if you feel bad...

normal stuff....hang in there.

the strange thing is that I felt a alot better within days. And it only lasted a short period.

I think too it sounds like a herx which is causing it all to happen. But why feel better is something I wonder. How can it happen so fast..?

I thought that I'd only feel better when I'm rid of the bacteria's .. But that can't be so, because I return to "normal" 5-6 days later

Hi Peter,
My LLMd said the effects good or bad when you start any new abx depend on where you are in the cycle. You might have had a growth cycle follow the good days. If I were you, I would look forward to more good days ahead, it sounds like a good sign to me.

Take care.
