I wanted to ask if there are any negative things about lyme disease and Fish Oil. I have some fish oil from Garden of Life and was wondering if it could somehow hurt me. I have heard it is great for inflammation, is a healthy oil, and helps with tight muscles.
Is there anything bad about this stuff? I will only take about 1/2 to 1 tsp. a day of it...

Be sure you get clean fish oil. That is getting tougher every year. The experts say that within some four years there will be no clean fish oil any longer.
Do a search here - you will find a lot of posts on the subject. Also be sure to add a little of the other oils, i.e. flax seed (organic - Trader Joe carries one) to it.

Flax is inadequate for males for some reason that I've forgotten (sory, Lyme brain. They need fish oils instead. Not sure about females. I have a complete bowel intolerance for flax oil anyway.
About 1/3 of people find that fish oils make their lipid ratios worse instead of better. If you are one of those try Neptune krill oil. Be sure to get a lipid profile done after taking it for a couple of months to make sure you are not one of those people, like I am.
I have found Neptune krill oil works far better at normalizing my lipids, and since it is also far better absorbed, does not causing belching and reflux like fish oil often does.
Krill oil also helps my husband's morning arthritis stiffness, where fish oil did not.
I use Source Naturals brand, but there are many brands out there. www.mercola.com has several articles about the benies of krill oil, if you want to read about it.
The best fish oil I found was Carlson's Lemon flavored liquid. It does not taste fishy, and makes a great salad dressing. I stopped using it after I found out it raised my LDL and triglycerides, but 2/3 of you will not have that problem.

With the need for fish oil having finally reached most people, Dr. K. says that what he is seeing now when testing that people show the need for flax and some of the other oils. In other words, a bit of everything, and not just one.
The lipid tests done by certain labs that copy each other he finds very unsatisfactory. He does not only rely on them because of that and does the ART testing. The requirements of people change from time to time. Just like not eating the same foods every day, he suggests changing the oil intake from time to time.
I run to the fish oil bottle (Pharmax Fruity) when I can't remember where I left my keys!
Take care. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
