ok.... I really believe in detoxing....but I have some fears. I have been taking meds for so long for fibro and MCTD (take pain meds, antidepressants, and now the omnicef), so when I detox, could I get overload of all these meds that have been built up in my body?
Could it damage my organs? make me sick?
Should I do a whole body detox? get one of those kits from the health food store, they have liver detox, kidney detox, colon clense, and whole body detox.... or should I just take some sort of herb to do it? or foot patches?
What about heavy metals?
it's all just so overwhelming...between treatment and trying to learn about this disease, and then all the supplements, and learning what I should be taking on my own to help my immune system build up.... I am having system overload here.....HELP!!!!
Thank you for any imput. j

I am being treated by my LLMD for heavy metals.
For detox, I hear good things about the footpads. I have a FIR sauna ... I also use coffee enemas and drink whey protein (undenatured).
I find the whey really helps me when I start feeling the Lyme symptoms. I thought that today I would spend the whole day in bed, but once I drank the whey, I felt a lot better.
The coffee enemas do a great job, too.
My doctor has me taking Questran ... but chlorella and charcoal work, too. Just be sure it's very far away from your meds/supplements.
Lemon or lime water is very alkalinizing.
I, personally, wouldn't use the commercial detox stuff because our bodies can be so delicate. It just seems like those products would work best on someone healthy.

I think detoxing is a big part of this.
But, I am still learning myself.
When i can afford it, I get the podi patches.
I am using them right now. Once again they are coming up black.
Water is something I really have to work at getting enough in me each day.
When I was really having a rough time, I would do the detox tea.
As I am typing this now, I am thinking of having my helper make a pitcher of it tomorrow for me.
It is hot here now so I am going to try it cold.
Hot epsom salt baths were something I was able to do also.
But, I just moved and do not have a bath at the new place. Just a shower.
I miss that. It helped.
I have also done the clay detox when I am strong enough.
it is wonderful when I do this. My body feels normal afterwards. I had forgotten what normal felt like.
Others will most likely come along with what has worked for them.

For heavy metals, you need help from someone who knows what they are doing ... metals can be redistributed if done incorrectly.
I would talk to your LLMD about it. Mine had me do a six-hour urine collection to test me for heavy metals.
Many docs will give you DMPS, then have you take alpha lipoic acid and NAC with it. Mine has me on the ALA and NAC along with Detoxamin. He chose Detoxamin because I am mostly lead toxic with a minor mercury problem.
You also need a mop up agent. Most seem to use Chlorella but mine is using Questran because of other issues I'm having.
Klinghardt is the metal expert ... Google him and you'll get a lot of information on it.
If you have Lyme, you most likely have heavy metals. You will have to get rid of the heavy metals to get better. Talk to your LLMD.
BTW FIR saunas will chelate metals.
