I am about to start on Heparin shots 5000 IU once a day and will be going back on Dr. Zhang's artemesia for another 40 days, in about a weeks time, then I will add Mepron during the last 3 wks of the Artemesia treatment...as I had one bottle given to me from a fellow Lymie who didn't need it anymore.
Does anyone know if it's okay to take Artemesia and/or Mepron while on Heparin?
Or does anyone know where I could look to find the answer?
Thanks so much Lisa

Be careful. I think Heparin and Mepron is a good combo, just be sure you get your PTTs checked and that your doc sees the results.
Adding the Art is good, too, if you can handle it. I couldn't. Art definitely boosts the effectiveness of the other two though the Art you're taking should be considered carefully. In Buhner's book he says anyone with late Lyme should not take astragalus and I think Dr. Zhang's Art has astragalus in it so that's why I didn't take his brand.
Good luck. This is a powerful trio.

Thanks for your reply....What are PTT's to be checked?
Yes I read that too about astragulus and actually called Dr. Zhang and discussed this issue with him. He said the amount of astragulus in the formula is very low (can't remember the actual mg.) and he said it would have no effect on the Th1/Th2 issue....
I also went to drugdigest.org and did an interaction search on all three items and it seems to be okay...

Gees Polar! Yikes! Thanks for the warning. I got my Art from Organic Pharmacy. Pretty good price and good product that was recommended by others.
