Has anyone had an old rash start to itch again? By old, I mean several months old, rash all gone altho can still see where the bug bit. Then all of a sudden it starts itching again. Anyone have this?

Some mosquito bites I just got maybe a month ago that look pretty healed have started itching again. Sometimes some of my moles itch, too.

I'm curious which bug this is though.

Tailz,

But you've not had a former tick bite start to itch again after several months? Can you see where your tick bite was? How long ago was it?

Yes, husband has had this. Cyclically, itchy rash radiates out from site of original bite. This has gotten better over time (we are 18 months out from beginning "real" treatment with LLMD).

Things that have helped (not all at once):

Rifampin
Malarone
Cat's Claw
gentle cleansing with Safe Solutions peppermint enzyme cleaner

I never had a tick bite to begin with - only flea bites and mosquito bites. Just mosquito bites recently - the flea bites were back in 1989.

I can see faded purplish or grey blotches. That's all.

Oh - and I was stung by a bumble bee a couple of weeks ago - that still itches on and off - even though it is pretty much gone.

Tailz,

If you never had a tick bite, how can you have Lyme's?

And then what are the faded purplish gray areas from? I have one of those on my boob where I had a bite from something about a month ago.

Pam, that's just it - Lyme is carried by other bugs, too. That's why I get so frustrated when I hear it called a tickborne disease. I was only ever bitten by mosquitos and fleas.

In fact, I had several flea bites on me on any given day for a year. I even picked one off my upper lip one morning - it was feeding off of me, too.

I even grew some kind of white lump on my upper lip where the flea had bitten me - years later - and I had to get the lump removed.

It was around this time that I started growing teeny white balls just under my eyebrows that looked like spiders. I was able to pull these growths off myself, but they actually had little 'legs' that were attached to the thin skin below my eyebrows.

I used to drown the fleas that I'd pick off of me, but my ex used to be able to squeeze them. These guys were hardy, too - it took a lot to squoosh them.

I have a feeling this is why so many of us never saw a tick on us. We didn't get it from a tick - we got it from something else.

And the faded purplish grey spots are from newer mosquito bites. I don't heal as well as I used to, so they almost look scarred.
