Hi my name is joel. In 1984 I was diagnosed with lymes. I was givin 100 mg of doxicycline for ten days. Now looking back at the last 23years I have had almost all the symptomoligy of lymes. is it possible I was never cleared of the disease. I'm tired all the time, have been to emergancy ward with heart palipatations, and now I am experancing memory problems among other things. I do not want to appear crazy but the test don't conferm lymes. I need help. sorry about the spelling errors.

hi joel. yes, absolutely; 10 days of 100mg doxycycline is not even CLOSE to enough abx to kill the lyme bacteria.

also, standard lyme tests are horribly inaccurate and false negatives are EXTREMELY common.

i would suggest finding an LLMD (lyme-literate medical doctor). post in 'seeking a doctor' with your location, and someone will give you a referral.

best of luck, and i'm really glad you found us.

Agreed!

If they didn't use IGeneX to test you, then you would most likely have a negative test. Plus, even with IGeneX, there are still false negatives because of the nature of testing.

You need to see an LLMD (lyme literate MD). Post on seeking doctors and someone will PM you a doc near you.
