My pcp is calling me soon and I KNOW my lyme is back I feel it... I also just had a panick attack. haven't had one in 2 yrs.

So, I feel it's back. I'm asking her to put me on Doxy. I can't remember is it 200 mgs a day for 60 days or 90 days

or 300mgs a day??? I know I should call my llmd from before but last I heard she was having legal trouble. She's in New Jersey...

I know we are not doctors... but we do have lyme and we do know what we are feeling is real and that all the specialist in the world

can't help like a llmd... I've been on here for years before just search guiney (that's me [Smile] It's been 2 yrs and I forgot my password [bonk]

Anyway... please .... if anyone is on doxy just let me know how your treatment is going...
Jamie

I'd have to say that it would be different depending on the doctor you go to and your situation...

I'm on 200mg/day of doxy for 30 days. Then I go back for more testing to see if I have co-infections, then more abx (I assume since I have 9 days of abx left and my symptoms are only a tiny bit better - barely noticable).

Hi jgwv

I am so sorry to hear you are still sick & feel your lyme is back...Can you travel & find a LLMD outside New Jersey?

Read Dr. B's guidelines in the newbie section. He reccomends 300-6000 mg doxy a day.

http://www.ilads.org/files/burrascano_0905.pdf

Don't know too many reg ducks who will prescribe the correct dosage.

here's a link, hope it helps:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=054468

There are co-infections to for & treat to get over the soup that is lyme.

Hope you can find some help & feel better soon [group hug]
Dana

make sure to talk over everything first with your doctor...none of the above is medical advise...just my 2 cents

Dr. B's guidelines suggest a minimum of 300 mg a day. I am on 400 a day. Good luck!

I think you better push for 400mg depending on your body weight. If you are really small 300 MAY do.

On the other hand IF you are a larger person,,,400 may NOT be enough!! If larger,, 5-600 might be better for YOU!!!

Hope all goes well for you,,,think I would call the LLMD because that is who can get you better,,,faster!!!! Unless you know something about this GP we dont!!

IF your LLMD cant see you or do anything,,,then you HAVE to move into anothers practice!!being--just don--

I weigh around 120 lbs. I was on 200 mg/day for 30 days(?). When LLMD increased it to 300 mg/day, I had the most bizarre Herx the very next day and it lasted around 4-5 days(I think). The next two cycles I continued the same weird herx but decreased in severity successively. Then my babesia relapsed and we had to go back to Mepron. [Roll Eyes]
