Has anyone heard of combining Omnicef plus Tetracycline as a treatment (not literally mixing them in the same dose)? I took both for 4 doses, until I got too nervous about unknown combinations. It seemed to give an excellent herx right away. I felt bad and sickish one day, and was in bed most of the next day sleeping a lot. I felt it might be too strong, so I stopped; but I was also simultaneously taking Niacin 200 mg, 3x/day, which probably contributed unwell feelings. Now, a couple of weeks later, again I've taken 2 doses so far of Omnicef concurrently with Tetracycline, and my symptoms feel better and worse than on Tetracycline alone: disease more controlled, body reacting more strongly ( at least, that's the way I imagine the interpretation). It seems to be a good treatment, but if it's safe, why haven't I heard of it before?

I was taking Omnicef with Doxy ... but come to think of it, I think they both go after the same form of the borrelia ... maybe someone else can confirm that.
