You are all so knowledgable and I just want to thank you in advance for all of your help.
I'm driving myself crazy thinking about all that could happen with my son.
As many of you know from my previous posts, my 1 year old was bitten by a tick 3 months ago and developed the bulls-eye rash.
His pedi put him on 21 days of Amoxicillian (not sure of the dosage).
I wish I knew then, what I know now about Lyme. I would have kept him on Abx longer.
My question now is: he's going to see Dr. J in 2 weeks.
Do you think that being that it's been 3 months since he was bitten, that it's too late?
Or do I still have a chance to beat Lyme for good? I am sick to my stomach that I didn't call Dr. J sooner. I didn't know what I know now, thanks to all of you.
Also let me point out that since being bitten by the tick, he's developed 2 rashes - one on his chest and back - pedi said it was viral and will clear up on it's own, which it did.
He also developed the Echo Virus which gave him a rash on his face, chest, and arms. Again, doc said it just has to clear up on his own.
He has a swollen lump behind his ear - lymph node is what the doctor said. It's been there for 2 weeks.
He also now has pimples on his scalp that come and go.
I'm not sure if these things are related - I will ask Dr. J. But I just want to show some of the things that he's been getting since being bitten by the tick.
His regular NON-LLMD says they aren't related and kids are bound to come down with things! HA!
I'll probably ask a million questions in the next two weeks - please forgive me. I'm just a nervous first time mom hoping to do whatever I can for my little guy.
Thanks in advance!

Hi JaimeeS, you wrote: Or do I still have a chance to beat Lyme for good?
I don't know that anyone can answer this question for you. You are doing everything in your power to deal with this and I think you are doing the right thing. Ask Dr. J. what he thinks. My guess is that he has a good chance.
I'm sure Dr. J. will test for co-infections and that may answer some of your questions and get rid of his symptoms. The swollen lymph nodes are often bartonella but it could be lyme as well or something else. The same for the rashes.
Rest assured, you are in good hands with the LLMD. Try to relax (I know it's not easy) and know that you are doing the right thing in getting proper treatment for your son.
Many people have been infected much much longer than your son and they get well.
P.S. My brother and I both get the bumps on our scalp off and on. I have bart, lyme and babs. He hasn't been diagnosed but has the same symptoms as I do.

Plus all those little rashes that the ped told you will go away cuz they're viral.
Tell you ped he does'nt know what he's talking about. Well neither do I but a dollar to a donut those "virus's" ARE lyme related.
At the least some around here think that the lyme bacteria just happens to awaken some dormant virus's in out systems.
So you would want to tell your future llmd....and maybe he/she will start your son out with an anti-viral instead of an antibiotic...

Thank you everyone, I appreciate it. This scares me to death, and I cannot wait to see Dr. J.
I also pray that he can be cured, and I also pray that they come out with a cure for adults as well!!!

Jaime, maybe you don't believe on energetic testing, but I believe more on them than on most blood exams for lyme and babesia, at least.
My daughter was also infected last year, I know the feeling as a parent.
She got well, totally well so far (since October 2006, no more on lyme treatment). Children react faster than adults, usually, their immune system is better than ours, usually.
I would take your son for energetic testing TOO. You could do parallel testing, I mean. It's the only thing that makes me feel calm, besides the fact she's symptomless.
She was ART tested positive for borrelia, bart, ehrlichia and rikketsia, plus Candida that abx caused.
Slowly, we tracked her improvements both by symtpoms and by energetic testing (muscle tests/ ART). She got totally better but it took her a few months of intensive treatment. She was only 2 years old, now she's a thriving 3 year old, calm, attentive, smart.
Her main problems were in the gut, fussiness and tiredness. She also heard sounds no one heard, and had migrating pains here and there.
I think she was cured (not only in remission), but only time will tell.
Good luck, Selma

Selma - Can you tell me more about energetic testing?
I don't know what that is?
What treatment did your daughter endure?
How long after her infection did you catch that she had Lyme?
Your story gives me hope that my son will be ok. Thank you!!

jaime,
you also want to contact the drs. office to sign a RELEASE OF INFO to get a copy of all medical dictated reports, lab tests, just everything your young one has been tested for, xrays, etc.
then make up an extra set for yourself to start a file on your lyme child, and add to it.
get copies of ALL medical appt. med. notes, xrays, lab tests, etc. after EACH APPT. i do; it's helped tremendously to see what extra comments they make or errors made in typing.
good luck; glad you are going to Dr. J.
now READ, READ, READ.....1st appt. link and others of importance that I sent you when you joined up here lately!
