Hi all,
Could use some advice here.....I really was not feeling too terrible before I started treatment (am now 6 months in). But alarmingly I realized that more symptoms have showed up and NOT GONE AWAY during treatment. In fact, treatment has made me worse! I thought treatment was supposed to make symptoms go away, not appear?

Or am I just too early in to notice any kind of progress?

Here are my thoughts, non scientific, based on my own experience, I am not a doctor.

The reason many continue to get sicker and or worsen are that the real problem behind lyme is the fungal infection that comes with it, probably a microsporidian of some sort. I am better now, it was only when I stopped anti-biotics and did natural immune builders and PH alkalizing things like ACV (apple cider vinegar) did I get better, and I did it with no prescriptions or a doctor. There it is, do with it what you will ...

Fungus is behind America's woes ...

How do you find out if you have a fungus?

I was on just Lyme (Zith + Omnicef) and virus treatment the first 5 months, we had to get my viral titers down. We also did a Zith + art challenge (6 weeks of 600 mg art + 500 mg Zith daily, followed by a pulse of 500 mg Zith + 1000 mg art for 4 days on, 3 off). Nothing "babesia-ish" seemed to happen, that I could distinguish anyway (no sweats, chills, fever, headache, etc). Now I'm a month into Rifampin + Omnicef + Zith for clinical bart, and today I'm subbing in the Doxy for the Zith.

I know it's early and I've had some clear herxes, but all kinds of weird stuff has popped up since I started Rifampin!

When do you start feeling better?

I agree that you need a doctor to look beyond lyme. My ILADS LLMD says "It is NEVER just one thing". Abx are limited in what they can do. The immune system is the ultimate healer. Abx do help in many ways but in others they are useless and can even be damaging.

If your doctor only treats with abx, look for a new doctor or maybe a 2nd doctor to compliment the first.

Good luck to you! Please post your progress.

My LLMD actually consults with a naturopath who is an LLND. I am thinking about going to see her since he so highly recommends it/her. Has anyone had extra good luck with this type of a team working for them?

luvs2ride, that is correct, however, I'm on the opinion that if fungus is the issue, antibiotics are not the way to go. But don't get stressed over this. Here's a good link to ponder ...

Cumanda is an incredible fungal killer as is ACV.

If you do Samento start slow, one drop, you can have a major herx off it, I certainly did.

CD57 - which weird stuff has possed up?

I had the same thoughts a month ago. I was thinking WHY is some symptoms getting worse? And why does not some symptoms disapear? Why do I get new symptoms (very slowly) despite the borrelia treatment.,

My own conclusion is that I have a bart infection. At first I thought babs, but now I have much evidence for bart .. Borrelia shouldn't "grow" slowlt while it's treated. But other stuff can ..

I definitely think I have bart, clinical dx only. I have the hallmark sore soles and my LLMD agreed to treat based on this. I have also heard that bart grows the fastest.

I have no positive co-infections tests.

Re: new symptoms appearing....weird neuro stuff like "inner trembling"/vibrations, tremors/jerking, and crazy mood swings....

In addition to co-infections, something else to consider are biotoxins from die off. The more bugs you kill, the sicker you can feel if you aren't able to get rid of the toxins fast enough. Biotoxins cause most of the symptoms in lyme. Makes sense as to why you might be feeling worse after being on abx.

Are you using biotoxin binders? Metal binders? Is your doctor monitoring liver function? Are you taking LOTS of good quality probiotics? You need those while on abx or you can get a serious imbalance in your gut and/or yeast issues.

I'm not a doctor, just relaying what I've learned.
