Hi! I have not posted in awhile, but browse through the topics occasionally. I have Lyme, but no one will treat me in Texas (- Elisa, + W.Blot). I do have a practioner that is helping me to get my mercury levels down. Also, I am doing natural remedies with some great results.

I wanted to get some input in photosensitivity. If I wear my contacts, my symptoms are worse. Specifically, when I stare at the computer . . . I cannot see. Floresent light really aggrivate this! Everything is very blurry. Is this a Lyme complaint?

Also, I have been having a lot of spinal and lower back pain. Mainly, it is a lot of cramping, burning and numbness. The pain also is in my neck. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

A good opthamologist may be in order here. Not only can they clinically diagnose lyme, but Lyme can lead to Uveitis, which causes cronic dry eye, eye pain, photsensitivity, "floaters", blindness, and retinal problems. I have problems with my contacts and blurry vision and all this stuff. One of my many dx's was Sjogren's syndrome, and autoimmune disorder that mimnics the lyme eye problems.

Your back? I SWEAR by my chiro. There are good and bad, just like docs...be picky...but I'd be in a wheelchair without mine. The arthritis has caused degenrative disc disease with me, neck and back. I love my chiro. It lessens the neuro pain and the arthritis pain in my back a LOT.

I take neurontin for chronic pain as well.

Also, neck pain can go with the bacteria CNS and brain symptoms with lyme...so if it is severe and accompanies a headache, either ask to see a neuro or get a brain scan.

Dear LED,

NoIR amber glasses from NoIR Medical Technologies, Inc., can really help with this!!

Yes, it is a Lyme problem!!

I wear mine outside all the time, and I have a fairly light amber pair that I often wear when doing work on the computer.

Also, i don't put on the florescent lights--I use an incandescent one on a dimmer.

Love,

Cass A

Just a thought.

I was very surprised to learn that flat panel computer screens actually contain small long fluorescent tubes along the tops or sides to add brightness. I found that turning the brightness down to 'zero' helps my eyes to be more comfortable.

So if fluorescent lighting is bad for you, maybe you need to look at how the computer screen is affecting you too.
