i am sorry if this has already been asked, but i would appereciate any new input, do any of you feel much much worse after sleeping? i get terrible chills and sweats in sleep and even with the littlest amount of sleep i feel much sicker, then more achy and more bone pain, more flu like, but i also know you need sleep just to survive! but the longer i sleep, the worse my sweats then the more my heart races, and i wake up with a terrible headache too, so how to sleep and actually feel alittle refreshed? and it takes so long for my brain to get alert and wake up! thanks for any info,
Radha

I feel worse when I sleep, too, most of the time. This is why it's 2am and I'm still awake.

Drenching sweats, bone pain, and pretty much as soon as I lay down my ears start to 'swoosh' and I start feeling dizzy.

I have no idea how to sleep and actually feel rested, except I know with me anyway, if I go to bed at 4am, I am more likely to sleep a whole 4 or 5 hours than if I go to bed at 11pm. Somehow I always wake up if I go to bed 'early' at 11pm.

I think the buggers are active at certain times. I'd be curious to see when most people here sleep.

I sleep from about 4am to 9am. If I go to bed at 11pm, I will wake up multiple times throughout the night.

...I'm retired early so I sleep when I'm sleepy and eat when I'm hungry.

personally I think rituals are as big a problem as anything else...

Radha, do you have babs? Sure sounds like it.

I always feel much worse after my afternoon nap: feverish, fluish, achey.

It usually helps me to drink a big glass of water and go on a short walk.

Oddly, I don't feel like this in the morning upon waking up. I actually feel pretty refreshed, best hour of my day.

I had this too.. The more I slept the worse my brain fog. Sometimes I never even knew what day it was.. ususally on a weekend when I got to sleep in.

Are you being treated for babs?? Kill the bugs and you won't have this issue (as severe anyways). Since starting babs treatment, I noticed that this has gotten better for me.

You MUST sleep... Your body needs it!!

26 months of treatment. And counting.......

You need your sleep in order to heal. I definately feel worse in the morning. I stay in bed for about an hour after I wake up.

It is getting better with treatment ... the sweats are gone now except for during herxes.

Are you being treated for the babs?

whenever i even attempt a tiny dose to treat the babs the herx is so so strong i have to back off, just cannot take it, already the chills, sweats, bone pain brain fog, air hunger, chest heaviness, and palpitations so bad they just get too too much when even try to kill it, so i dont have any idea what to do, but i do appreciate all your replies and any input

Oh god yes, I thought it was just me!

For two years now the symptoms (worst one being hearing loss) have come on after sleeping and would slowly improve a bit while I was awake.

I literally would wake up in the middle of the night with my ears ringing and unable to hear. Unfortunately, I'm like that 24/7 now.

I would also wake up with tremors. Have appalling nightmares. Sleep an hour and wake up thinking I'd been asleep for 5.

It would also happen if I took a nap during the day. No doctor believed me, and the few that did tried to put me on anti-depressants (which I tried. Made no difference at all, apart from making me even more tired in the mornings.)

Early on, when it was clear there was a connection between sleeping and losing my hearing, I tried staying up all night! It helped. I set an alarm to go off every 45 min so that I never really went into a deep sleep. I felt like crap in the morning, but my hearing didn't deteriorate. Understandably, could only manage two nights like this before the torture of not sleeping properly became too much. And so, went half deaf.

I found sleeping sitting up seemed to help a bit. Definitely went the most deaf if I lay down flat. No it's NOT anything to do with "fluid in the ear".

Nothing much has helped. Massive herx reaction to ABX seemed to just damage my ears even more, but I kept on with it and at least the eye pain is gone. Sleep is a bit better now, but I'm still very ill. Did three weeks of Mepron recently, not sure if it helped at all. Just can't tell.

All very frustrating. The "periodicity" of it all though... anyone know about this microfilarial worm theory? Because it's well known that these worms get active at night... Seriously!
