Hi there,
I tested positive for lymes about 7 years ago. they gave me antibiotics for a few weeks. Retested and was negative.
Over the years, I had twitiches in my eye, and 2 years ago, I had neck pain and muslce pain, slight burning. It went away. then I got shingles.
5 months ago. I had knee surgery. 2 weekslater, burning in both knees, spread to all legs, muslce spasms, twieches, numb, tingling. No doc could figure it out, so they said it will go away.
I had an eeg, normal, they took a lymes test, was negative.
Here we are in August. In july, the pain spread to my upper body and head. I feel like there is a sheet of rocks on my knees. Burning all the time. Are these the cysts?
Now, I have creaks and cracks in joints, my head burns, I see black specks in vision, muscle spasm in body, my hands shake, my face twiches.
I finally found an environ doc, who said I could have lymes. so, 10 days ago, we sent the blood to Igenex and labcorp (cd57). and I am waiting for the results. He started me on vitamins, which is eradicating my pimples on my back . what could the pimples have been from.
I am so anxious. I also had blood in my stool . I went to ER, they said it is probably internal hemorioids, My butt burns.
LAbcorp told me that my test was done except for the lyme part. That will take another 2 weeks.
Igenex said they will finish by early next week. My Doc appt is next Tues. Can he begin treatment on me if he only had Igenx and not the labcorp results. Igenex we did the IGG and IGM western blot. Labccorp we did the rest.
Could I acually feel the cysts in my knees?
What can I take for my anxiety - vitamin or herb.
Why did this come out after surgery?
I am worried, scared. this is spreading fast.
Jenin

WELCOME*)!*)!*!!*)*!)!!
!*)!*)!!*)*!)!*)!!

******Why did this come out after surgery?

An immune system compromise can trigger an eruption of any underlying illness. Surgery
is an immune system compromise.

************* He started me on vitamins, which is eradicating my pimples on my back . what could the pimples have been from.

I don't know- this is not a usual Lyme thing.

*****************I went to ER, they said it is probably internal hemorioids, My butt burns.

This also is not a usual complaint here.

*******Can he begin treatment on me if he only had Igenx and not the labcorp results.

Yes.

****Could I acually feel the cysts in my knees?

Pepole get huge visible cysts in their knees from Lyme called Bakers cysts. Those you would be able to feel- the spirochetal cysts- no, but their effects- of course.

************What can I take for my anxiety - vitamin or herb.

IMO that is a question for your doctor- I know some people find vitamins and herbs helpful and they could chime in here. St Johns Wort is ab herb used for anxiety but is contraindicated for anti-virals. You should always check for interactions re vitamins and herbs.

Welcome again!*)*)!!

I would be willing to bet that you were given steroids during or after surgery. This will make Lyme come out of dormancy.

yes, I used prednisone for 3 months on and off before surgery for my disc problem. They used nitrous oxide during surgery.
I actually feel like there is a sheet of rocks on my knee cap. Could this be the cycsts?
before surgery, I felt like something entered my knee cap (this is the good knee), and started stinging me. Turns out after doing an MRI of this knee, I have a baker's cyst. So, does that mean the lymes embedded in there? And on my operated knee, I also feel there is a sheet of rocks, burning rocks. Could this be cysts? I also feel like a water sensation, fluid like, drizzling down my knees from the knee cap.
My muslcles feel like they have been shredded. Can the antiobiotics treatment revers this?
Can they determine how long you have been exposed from the lab tests?

I had cervical fusion in 2000 and had a stroke during the surgery. On a recent visit to that neurosurgeon he said I was given some steroids during surgery and he believes that is why I took a stroke during the surgery. I woke up with no use of my left arm.

At the time I was not diagnosed with lyme (June 06).

Since 2000 I've had bells palsy, muscle twitching over entire body, neck creaks, myoclonus (body jerks), you name it.

I spent one year looking for a diagnosis before someone said "have you had a blood test for Lyme"?

Since June of 06 I've been on antibiotics. I just started IV therapy and hope to knock out the neurological symptoms. REading your post I would highly suspect you have lyme.

Hopefully you have a LLMD who can get you on the road to recovery.

Antibiotic treatment could indeed reverse the problems with your knees. Don't expect it to happen overnight though.

Yes, the prednisone is what really messed things up for you in my non-medical opinion.

Just to be cautious, I would not accept the ER "hemmorhoid" casual diagnosis.

Bleeding in the stool can be a sign of other problems.

Obviously, if you are constipated, or irregular, you want to incorporate some form of bulk in your diet, like psyllium or such (if you do a search here, there are several products listed).

Most importantly, there is a chance of polyps (increased chance with lyme) which require excision (during the colonoscopy), or a chance of other lower GI inflammation whether from lyme and/or bartonella and/or food allergies.

Inflammation around anus also could be caused by degraded skin condition, caused by weakened skin, or candida/fungal issues (and I am sure drs. could thinkk of a ton more...).

Hopefully you have described this symptom to your doctor?

I actually have candida. I feel burning there too.
I will see my doc on Tuesday.
My symtpoms are worsening each day while we wait for the test results. I see particles now in my eyes , joints crack and hurt. this started last week.
Question - My pain was extreme 4 months ago with the burning, and now it is less burning. Does that mean the bacteria is dormant?
Does that mean the bacteria is multiplying faster now? Should the doc be aggresive with the antiobiotics since my symtopoms are so severe?
What if the Igenex comes out negative, what should I tell my doc? I have 2 back up docs I made appoitments with, but they will not see my until endo of the month, and I might be in a wheelchair by then. What should I do?

I don't understand why the ER didn't confirm internal hemmorhoids. You do not need a colonoscopy, just a small scope inserted into the rectum to see--quite painless. I agree if you have blood in your stool to get it checked out. If you have pain there it might be an anal fissure.

When I had that problem I made an appoinment with a surgeon; he confirmed my gastroenterologists thought of anal fissure with a digital exam and then after surgery he used the scope to see that the hemorrhoids and fissure were healing and gone.

Best wishes. Hiker

I don't have pain in my gut, I just sometimes feel burning down there. But, I feel burngin all over my body from the lymes. I want to first take care of the lymes, I have not began antibiotics yet, waiting for results next week, but my symptoms are getting worse.

Since I got all the lyme symtpoms after surgery from the autoimmune response, does that mean it was dormant all this time, and then due to my weak immune system and the anethesia (maybe), it came out and now I have full blown lyme ? All the symtoms have manifested in 5 months, beginning 1 week after surgery. It began in both knees, so maybe the lyme bacteria set up shop in my knees?

The same thing happened to me. I had bullseyes back in 1992 followed by a whole bunch of neuro and other symptoms (too much to list). Anyway, it went into remission over a 5 year period and with some antibiotics. I was ok from about 1998 to 2005. I had cervical spine surgery in 2005. It all came back a few days after surgery and I've been a mess ever since. If it's not lyme, the surgery triggered some other autoimmune problem that does not show up on any kind of testing.
