Hi everyone, I am currently taking ceftin (cefuroxime) and wondered if is possible to have a herx reaction within 2 hours of a taking a medication. Also, kind of a funny story, but a couple of days ago I was so out of it I accidentally took my dog's thyroid medication and almost gave him my multivitamin. go figure. Thanks. Cornhusker

Yes, I think it's possible to herx within two hours of a med. If I haven't herxed with two hours it was close to that!

My feet burn within two hours of taking ceftin. I've been on 1000mg for about 6 weeks now.
Yesterday afternoon and today about 3:30 I started running a temp. Today 100.7 F with stiff neck and headache,
I took half an ambien so I could sleep and be oblivious to the pain..but I slept only 50 minutes this afternoon. I don't want to be conscious now and dread the night if ambien won't work.
I'm supposed to be taking 1500 mg per day but can't stand the burning feet.
After all that time (6 weeks ) it seems strange I'd get a herx.
I don't remember that happening last time I was on it, or with doxy, flagyl or zith. I usually get a herx early and then it tapers off.
I was doing so much better after one year on antibiotics. I just don't get it!

Oh, and Cornhusker, I took wed.'s and thurs's thyroid meds in the same day. My little box was empty the next morning. Maybe that will make you feel a little better
And I couldn't find my sunglasses and remembered them being on a table in front of me Wed morning so I thought I'd call but couldn't remember where on earth I'd been. It took me about ten minutes feeling panicky and wracking my brain trying to remember where I had been that morning.
I had been a pretty clear thinker again until the last couple of days!
