Happy Monday.

I have a question - What exactly is "rib soreness"? I see it listed as a symptom of Lyme

Where exactly on the ribs? I have some soreness along the inner right rib cage. Below my breast area, near the breast bone.

Could it be liver or gall bladder related? I have a similar feeling on the left side, but not as pronounced as the right the side.

This is a new symptom for me, it just started last week. Ugh.

Anyone have this one?

Thanks!

I've had the pain under my rib cage on the right side, and a tightness in my rib cage.

Recently one of my ribs on the right side is actually sore. When I rub my finger along it and get to the spot, it really hurts!

Have any of you ever had that?

I have this soreness too! It's my lowest rib on the right side. Almost along my flank.

I originally thought it might be kidney stone related.

It bothers me after sleeping on that side & if i poke around along the rib, it feels sore to the touch.

No idea if it's Lyme related though.

My daughter's LLMD attributes her rib soreness to bartonella.

I get spleen pain, moving rib pain and soreness,

And diaphragmatic spasms. Ouch!!

I think (for me) this is part of babesia treatment and herxing.

I am on my second round of babs treatment (about 5 weeks into it),

And my ribs just started hurting again.

The diaphragmatic spasms are slightly to the right directly under my breast bone.

I get like a "cramp" there and boy does it hurt.

Hang in there.

Hugs,

Geneal

Glad I'm not the only one with the soreness directly on the rib!

Thursdaynext, my sore rib is in the middle on the right side. My husband thought he could actually feel something floating on top of it???

I have Babesia and Bartonella too, so I guess the Bartonella would explain it.

You know what, i can feel something too.

But I'm not sure if it was always like that. I'm going to my LLMD on thursday, & will ask him about it.

Does yours hurt in the morning after you wake up?

I don't notice it hurting more in the morning; it seems pretty constant!

I see you're from the city. I grew up on the North Fork (where I got bit).

That's where I got bit! (At least that's where i think i got bit).

I spend summers out in Peconic / Southold area of Long Island. My Dad had Lyme twice, but he caught it immediately & is totally fine now.

Where on the North Fork did you grow up? It's so pretty out there, but tons of deer & ticks!

I get very painful rib pain. It is caused by tiny fractures that i get randomly (from the lyme i have been told) in the cartalage of my ribs.

SOOOOOOO painful. Its is all over my ribcage, my sternum, spine. Very un-fun.

That is what i got out of rib pain.

I'm probably sleeping...

I had this symptom as well- under my ribs on the left side. The good that came of it was that it prompted an abdominal ultrasound which showed that my spleen is enlarged.

I get terrible rib soreness but mine is slightly different.

It feels like my ribacge gets stuck and has to crack. I have not had it in a while but last night I woke up with it and I couldn't move my arm or really move my upper body at all because of it. It was hard to breathe. It wouldn't crack.

I almost had to go to the ER. I took 2 ibupofren and went back to bed, afraid to move.

This morning when I woke up it was still there. I didn't think I was going to be able to go to work today.

So, I acupunctured the spot - it was on my 3rd rib just above my right breast (usually I get it below that but also on the right side). It was nervewrecking to acupuncture because if I missed my ribcage I would get my lung.

I was OK all day but it is still a little sore. I have been putting a heating pad on it and on my back in that region. it sort of feels like it could be a dislocated rib, maybe coming from the back or something?

I think that it is just costochondritis (or whatever it is). That is what it was diagnosed as before, I did not know that so many Lymies had this also.

I have pain in my left rib cage almost constantly and my right one once in awhile. I have been told that it is chondrocondritis and an LLMD told me that it is common with Lymies. Two GI doctors gave me the chondro dx.

My hurts more if I bend down, and at times it will also have a burning sensation. Yes, my rib cage is sore to the touch also.

Hugs, Perplexed [confused]
