I just got my lab results from ignex:
igm
31 ind
34 +
41 +
58 +
66 +

igg
41 +++

So, my doc says he will not prescribe antibiotics, except warmwood herb artemisinin.
my immune panel from labcorp is :
immunoglobulin IGG subclass 1 and subclass 3 are low

my abs. cd8-cd57 lymphs is 102 (60-360 range) and this is from the cd 57 from labcorp.

My doc says my immune system is weak and he wants to build it first to fight off the infection. He has given me a vitamin protocol to strenthen
the immune system.
then he will start antibiotics.
In the meantime, my symtoms are increasing.

What should I do? I have an appointment with another llmd in 3 weeks, but am trying to bump it up.
Does what this doc say make sense? He says antiobitics will give me a strong herx, and he wants to make sure my immune systme can be stronger to handle it.

I am afraid I will get permantant nerve damamage if these bugs keep multiplying in my system.
Help.
Jenin

That makes sense. At least he acknowledges a chronic bacterial infection.

My LLMD started on anti-biotics ASAP and I think it SCREWED me because my sinuses went to hell a couple months in because of yeast.

So now here I am 4 years later still feeling crappy even though my IGINEX is negative.

Im on anti yeast meds and herx like hell on them.

Take your probiotics and something for yeast when he starts you on antibiotics. You might not be able to tell the difference. He always told me that I would have gas and bloating but I didnt, unless I ate wheat or sugar.

No clue as to whether your doc is being snmart or not. Comes down to whether or not you have faith in him/her. You have definitely had exposure to Bb thougH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like your doc just wants to get Babs out of the way because that is what wormwood treats-
makes sense to do that before abx!!!

Dr. B actually put me on supplements to ramp up my immune system before treatment.

Personally, I don't think it did any good and I would have rather starting abx immediately, but every doc is different.

Feel better.

Hurry up and get on Buhner's protocol in the meantime and you should start feeling better in a few days, and your immune system should start building up too.

Take Sarsaraparilla, Red Root tincture, and Milk Thistle first and you should not herx so bad.

If you take Jimbob's advice, which is a good suggestion in my opinion, be advised:

I have herxed just as hard, if not harder, on cat's claw/andrographis than on the strongest abx I have taken to date. Start SLOWLY with those!

I just wanted to say that the wormwood that treats Lyme is artemisia annua. I can't find it locally, so I buy it online.

Buhner's herbs are great idea.

I'd listen to both LLMD's and go with the one who makes sense to you. It's important that you trust him and have the same philosophy about treatment.

I was on herbs for 6 weeks before my first LLMD appt. I didn't want to get worse before I even got to see him. I would want to know how long he thinks it will take to build up your immune system.

Ok, I saw the other LLMD.
I like him better. He told me he does both nutrition supps and antiobitics togehter. he starts slow on the antiobiotics and monitors montly to increase dosage.
SO, he gave me 2 things today, minocycline - 50 mg, every other day, and benicar 5 mg. the doc I saw in the morning who refused to give me antibitoics seems like he just wants me to keep buying the supps from his office. And he told me to see him in 2 wseeks.

I can't afford him.
The other doc I saw who I am going to go for sees his patients monthly. He also has lots of experience in treating lyme,. How the heck is the first doc I saw going to know when my immune system is "ready" to take on the medicine?
My symotoms are getting worse, I need antiobiotics.

I have been on supps for 2 weeks now, I am ready to take the antibiotics.

what do you guys think of going slow on the medicine? He wants to do IV, but not now.

I think it's good to start slow and ramp up as you can handle it.

This guy sounds good!!! And you sound much happier.

Never ever do IV right away- he is right. IV has risk of death from infected lines so it should never be done before orals are exhausted.
IV is serious stuff.

Glad you found one better*)!*!!

Hi jenin98

Glad to hear you like your second LLMD & seem happy with his plan.

If you have a high germ load ~ which sounds like both docs might be thinking you do, it is a good idea to start out slow & then ramp up so your body & your immune system can clear the toxins/herx's.

Make sure to take lots of good pro-biotics spaced at least 2 hours apart from your abx. Also it would be helpful to drink alot of water & stay away form sugar & high carbs too...for possible yeast problems up the road.

Good luck with your treatment & hope you can eventually feel better soon [group hug]
Dana

make sure to talk over everything first with your LLMD.......none of the above is medical advise...just my 2 cents

My first day of abx, and I am feeling flu like symtpoms. Does that mean the abx is working?
I am guessing yes?

Yep. You're probably herxing. I feel bad the first few weeks on a new abx.

Do whatever you can to detox. There are a lot of good threads on here on detoxification. You are feeling bad because of all the toxins.

Hang in there, it's worth it.
