I am freaking out. I have had chronic lyme for 10 years. I have been on IV rocephin for 24 weeks which just ended a couple of weeks ago. Anyhow, on monday I had terrible lower back pain which I haven't had like this since I first got Lyme. Also, I had a mark on my arm that I tried to ignore except today there is no denying that it is circular. It reminds me of the ones I had years ago when we think I first got Lyme. What is going on with me? Did I get bit by another tick? I don't know what to do and could use some advice. Doctors in Illinois don't know much about lyme but, I am going to go to my general doctor and I emailed my lyme doctor in Boston. Has anyone else heard of symptoms returning? Also, what antibiotic should I try to get my doctor to give me at this point?

I emailed my lyme doctor. He is in Boston. I called another doctor in Lousiana that first diagnosed me and he should be calling me back. I went to my general doctor who prescribed amoxicillon. I took it and about an hour later I threw up. I really feel like I am herxing. I feel awful. I don't know if that confirms that I got bite again or if it is from the original. This is really hard and frustrating. If anyone is out there I could use some support. Thanks

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing symptoms again. You could be relapsing or you could have gotten bitten by a new tick. I was symptom free for 8 years and then i started getting sick again. I would call your LLMD and be treated ASAP so more symptoms wont appear. Was rocephinthe only drug you were on? Did you use a cyst buster? I improved greatly on zithromax so you may want to try that.
