I have been having numbness in my spine for almost a year. At times I feel like I have a collar around my neck and my legs are stuck in concrete (does not last long). Along with this, I have leg and arm weakness, and horrible circulation.
My chiro. was hoping that he could relieve my lower back pain as well as the numbness. So far, nothing has helped.
Could it be that I have lesions in my spine now? I am afraid that I will have mobility issues. Does anyone know how long it would take for this to occur if my spine is involved?
I am working on finding a LLD. Thus far, I have been doing alternative therapy. I have had great results for a year and have hit the wall. I had a positive WB and neg. Elisa. No one here will treat me with ABX.

Hi LED,
I had terrible spine pain and I did get a lot of numbness when I was herxing. It cleared up for me with Zithromax, Plaquenil and Malarone. I had the arm and leg weakness too.
Previous to my diagnosis of lyme and co-infections I saw a massage therapist, chiro and did physical therapy, the only thing that helped me was treatment for the infections that I had.
I wish I could answer your questions but I don't know, I do know that treatment does help.
I hope you get to a LLMD soon. Hang in there.

Very sorry to hear your problems which are similar to mine starting 12/21/1994.
Initial infection was August 1992; worst symptom was horrible burning pain in the low back, numbness in legs, along with flu-like symptoms. Diagnosed with pneumonia and treated with various ABX, and recovered to 80% in a few months.
A rash (not bullseye) appeared in March, 1993. Symptoms cycled back every 4 weeks or so but was able to function at about 80% until 12/21/1994.
On 12/21/1994, the symptoms came back and became permanent (to this day): back pain (upper as well as lower back) along with numbness bilaterally in legs. I think a very strong injection of Rocephin in summer of 1994 may have triggered the chronic Lyme.
Diagnosed myself in early 2007, and found an LLMD who confirmed. Unfortunately, my LLMD was forced to retire because of his health, so I'm without help again.
Just wanted to outline my history in hopes it might help with your own understanding.
Best of luck, Dave
