My sister's ANA levels were low. Does this mean positive for ANA - but just that the antinuclear antibodies are on the low side?
She now shows a negative ANA after being treated for malaria by her GP.
She is also positive for Epstein-Barr virus.
She is going to a LLMD now who is treating her for Lyme, but I am curious if LOW levels of antinuclear antibodies could also be an indication of the presence of Lyme. The reason I ask is because I see a lot of people here tested positive for ANA - but those levels were high.

My daughter's ANA levels have fluxuated with treatment. It indicates the immune system is attacking something, even good tissue.
Which makes sense since Lyme and co's can hitch onto blood cells and hide deep in tissues.
My daughter felt just as cruddy when they were low as when they were high.
