I hate this! Last night I had a very stiff neck, then later in evening I noticed numbness in my back. At bedtime I was experiencing numbness strange sensations that progressed from my arms to my trunk then later to my legs. It felt like my body went to sleep! It felt like I was breathing shallow because my diaphram was asleep.

I had difficulty swallowing and numbness around my lips too. I felt terrible. It reminded me of when I had lyme meningitis and how sick I was when this nightmare began.

I didn't go to sleep all night. When I laid down the feeling got worse and I couldn't move for a while. I even felt my bladder 'relax'. Very weird feelings. Visual things. I was very scared, but calm. (Not anxiety, just so you know.)

I finally drifted off to sleep at 6:30 this am and slept a few hrs. When I awoke, the swallowing and numb feelings were still there but not as bad. Now I have really bad burning in the arms.

I remember yesterday when turning the neck I heard a fluid like sound. I don't know how to describe it.

What the heck is going on? Herx? Meds not working? Was it the lemonaid?

This brings back awful, awful memories.

****It reminded me of when I had lyme meningitis and how sick I was when this nightmare began.****

Many Lyme patients will have recurring bouts of meningitis. I hope that's not the case for you!!!

I would put in a call to my LLMD if I were you!

what meds are you on?

Yeah, just take it away from other meds. I would still call the LLMD.

It sounds like you have late stage CNS lyme - have you been treated? I had similiar symptoms to you, msdx with MS - long story - 12 weeks IV rocephin - killed it.

I have the same thing going on too. I even went to the GI Dr. b/c of the swallowing. Of course, they found nothing, but he only did a Colon. and Endo. I have IBS, Gastritis and reflux.

Sometimes at night, I feel like I am about to take my last breath. Then it goes away, only to come back again later. I feel like my esophagus is closing.

Right now, I am having the stiff neck, spinal thing going on as well. My circulation is horrible.

I am not on ABX. I was trying to go the Herbal route, but I know that I need something stronger at this point.

Please keep me informed . . . I am sorry that you are going through this too. I do not feel so alone, though.

Unfortunately I have the same thing going on. Limbs feel heavy, asleep, pins and needles. Losing my balance a bit. I've had lyme meningitis multiple times. I'm on IV Rocephin, Zithromax and Mepron. I stopped the Zithro/Mepron to give my self a break.

The feeling of shallow breathing is scary. When I get like this I take a Lorezapam - doc said that it depresses the nervous system so it does take the edge off the buzzing, pins and needles and makes me tired enough to sleep.

I've been doing treatment for over 4 years....I'm hoping this is my last major herx leading to more of a normal life.

Doc said when I get like this Colosan, Core Greens or Greens First, charcoal pills - all detox agent.

I have to tell you - I went outside today and let myself get really hot and felt better.

Hang in there.

I stopped all meds and am feeling better this afternoon. Symptoms are still there, but not as bad.

I think I shall call this a HERX -o-RAMA!
