my doc is giving me levaquin for bart. Is it effective for lyme as well? just curious, I am going to get bicillin for the lyme in a week, but just wondering if I am herxing now due to bart or lyme, or both?

I took Levaquin for Bart as well. I believe it is only effective against the Bart.

Levaquin is weakly effective against bb.

Dr B said to me it had no effect on lyme as far as I remember.

No, it only hits the bart.

It is a fluoroquinolone and can cause severe tendonitis. Be sure to let your doctor know if you have severe pain in your shoulders. knees. or hips.

The only treatment for that is rest. Do not do exercise or physical therapy. I speak from experience.

My lyme symptoms is severe pain in knees, hips, shoulders. How will I know if my pain is due to the medicine?
