just a quick question. I've noticed little white bumps on the backs of my son's forearms. Also, yesterday he got red circles under his eyes, and his eyes were a bit blood shot. I asked if his eyes were bothering him. He said "purple splotches." I asked if he was seing purple splotches. He said no. I asked if he was seeing ok. he said no, but couldn't describe what was wrong. He was able to see and recognize letters on a computer screen though.
It's so hard to pin point neurological symptoms in a 5 year old, or quite frankly, andy symptom, unless it is:
1. a blatently obvious physical or behavioral clue
and 2. He has the language skills and understanding that what he is experiencing is not "normal" for example, it took a couple of weeks for us to figure out that he was having headaches because he had never had a headache before and didn't know how to express what he was feeling. We only figured it out on a day when he was acting very beastly and I finally sat down and asked if something was hurting him. Even then, he couldn't say it, he just pointed to his head and his tummy.
So i have to wonder how many other symptoms are present and unaccounted for, he already has so many of them.
Thanks for your time!!

Hmm, I wonder if he is having migraine headaches.
Migraines can cause abdominal discomfort as well as the headache.

Do you know what a migraine aura looks like?
Maybe he's having that also.

If a child has migraines, I would suspect they may be due to Lyme.

I am sorry that your little one is not feeling well. My daughter(9)still has difficulty expressing how she is feeling.

She also has the white dumps on her arms, we have always been told it was due to a lack of specific vitamins, I can't remember which ones. (vitamins/supplements have never helped, I feel it is Lyme related)

Her eyes are always "bugging her", her stomach hurts a lot. She is very light and sound sensitive. Mood swings and weight gain also come into play with her. (my 14y/old loses weight without reason) She also has frequent headaches/migraines.

She has "Lymie" arms, legs, and feet sometimes. She uses this word when they feel jittery or hurt without reason, or if something just doesn't feel normal.

I could probably go on but that's all I can think of right now.

I wish you the best!

Carol,
thanks for the migraine thought. No I don't know

what a migraine aura looks like. My son

reported stomach aches starting when he first

ran the fever. He has had bowel continence

issues for a year and says that he cannot feel

when he has to go. Instead he lets me know when

he feels a bm hit his underwear and we tend to

his business then. The LLMD said this could be

Lyme related (Bels Palsy of the Gut) and I have

encountered another mom who had this issue until

her daughter was about 15. His CD 57 is low and

as per his doc he is chronic. We can trace

symptoms to May this year (falling asleep at the

lunch table in pre-k) and the bm thing has been

an issue for a year. His treatment started in

July.

thanks for the tip on the migraines.

My migraine aura starts out with a blind spot in the center of my vision, and then I get zig zag lightening streaks. These enlarge until I can't see anything.
This part takes about 20 minutes, then it stops and the headache begins.

I often have abdominal discomfort below the waistline, which feels somewhat similar to uterine cramps, but not as specific an area.

Regarding the bowel problems, you may want to consider using stick-on pads on his underwear.
Something like the Always brand liners.

Something that seems to help with the abdominal discomfort/migraine is a product called GelStat Migraine.
It's a sublingual liquid...I adjusted the directions to taking a couple drops under the tongue every minute or so, until it's gone.
This usually clears up the abdominal symptoms, and sometimes the headache.

Poor you and your boy... I'm also a mother, so I know how it feels.

My daughter had mainly GI problems with lyme and cos. She was 2 when she fell sick. She had other pains, heard imaginary sounds, got very fussy and tired.

I would take my kid to energetic testing, kinesiology, muscle test, anything like that, with a good practioner. These tests say more about how they feel than what they themselves can express.

My daughter was only diagnosed and treated through ART and got totally well a few months after. She was just 2 then.

If you don't trust these energy testings, you could do both treatments parallel. I did amoxy to my little one too in the beginning. Now I'm all for herbs, but I had to go through the 'trial/ error' to choose.

Good luck,
Selma
