Green drinks are mentioned often, but names don't make it into the posts too much.
What do you use? Why? cost/monthly? Taste? Where do you buy it..internet or health food store?
I received a pamphlet in the mail for All Day Energy Greens. Looks okay, but pricey.
Trial offer 30 day supply...39.95 plus 6.95 shipping.
Best deal 12 month supply for JUST 299. get 4 free canisters, free shipping plus a 20. gift certificate towards next purchase. You save 367. Big difference...what if I dislike it??
Has anyone tried this product?
I saw Super Food listed and gummies from Dr.C.
I am hoping this will be a good addition to my diet, but money is mostly spent on medical costs and scripts. I am trying to get the best bang for my crumpled buck.
Thank you. Foggedup

After years of experimentation, I have settled on a Green drink that I like far better than the others I've tried, both for the formulation and the taste.
Many other green drinks almost always have things in them that I am allergic to.
The one I use is Greens First by Doctor's Nutrition. I buy it at my TCM doctor's office for $35 for a one month supply, but it can be ordered online.

I read some different sites on this and will give it a try. Greens First has many positive reviews.
Thank you for the suggestion. Fogged

Dear Fogged, I don't know if you ever use Whey Protein supplements or not, but sometimes I am just too queasy in the mornings to eat. I am definitely a night owl. Yet, I know how important it is not to skip breakfast.
Doctor's Nutrition also makes a whey protein powder....I think it's called Dream Protein, but can't remember right this minute (I'm fogged too), and when combined with Greens First, it makes a complete meal substitute, and can be used for weight loss.
I sometimes mix the vanilla flavor into appx. 4 oz. of Powerade plus 3 oz. of water, and have it for breakfast.(The water is to dilute the sugar and sodium in pure Powerade or Gatorade, or whatever you use, so that you get less sugar.)
I do not own stock in this company, nor do I sell their products.

I used to take NutriCology Progreens in capsule form because I could find a way to take the drink without gagging.
I paid $28.95 for 180 capsules the "suggested use" is 2-4 caps 1-4x/daily.
I did find it helpful, maybe I should try taking it again. Thanks for the reminder.

I've noticed a lot of these green drinks stating that they are gluten free even though they have barley and wheat grass. I don't know how they can guarantee that none of the seeds get in their product.

My favorite is Enriching Greens from Natural Factors.
It almost tastes good. I can drink it mixed with water straight, and it doesn't ruin a good protein shake.
I order it on line in the large 300 g containers. You can get a great deal if you order five or six at a time.
I'd always buy a small can of something to see if I like it before I'd order a year's supply.

Green drinks are such a good idea, but they always ended up sitting in the cupboard because of the taste.
There was a jar of hawaiian spirulina in my refrigerator for quite a while and somehow my intentions to have my husband improve his health drinking it were not materializing.
Then I hit on the idea of putting it in capsules and taking it myself. That worked. I could get as much down as I liked because the capsules weren't as offensive as drinking that green sludge!
That is my experience. Hope it's helpful.

Hi! I have lots(!) of sensitivities, including to the grains wheat, spelt, and kamut (but not to gluten, so I can't testify to that issue with these, but I think they may be ok on that score, as well), so when I use something I want it to have as few ingredients as possible.
Here's what I use and why (I have no connection to either of these companies):
#1 & 2 Green Kamut and Just Barley--available in caps or powder that dissolves quickly (my United Natural Foods Buyers Club catalog still lists them under the brand Green Kamut Corporation, but the box says Manufactured by Pure Planet Products (A division of Organic By Nature, Inc.). 1542 Seabright Ave., Long Beach, CA 90813 (562)901-0119 [email protected]
While I'm allergic to the grain kamut, I seem to do ok with the juiced grass. And that's all that's in these, just the dried juice from the kamut or the barley. No ground up grass (like many of the other brands), no rice powder, no maltodextrin, no sweetener.
It may seem more expensive, but you're not getting filler for your money, just juice. They need no refrigeration.
#3 Evergreen Wheatgrass Juice Again, allergic to the grain, but seem to be ok with the juice. Again, nothing but juiced wheatgrass. Frozen as individual wheatgrass icecube/"shots".
Need to keep frozen till use. Canadian, I believe. I get mine through the buyers club I mentioned above or at any of my local health food stores. (I already cut up the trays of shots and tossed the box, so I don't have the info from the box handy).
All 3 of these are organic and I believe all 3 are also "outdoor grown". None of them are "cheap," but I'd rather spend just a little more and have it do the job!
My experience is that I feel the kamut and wheatgrass quicker, but the barley lasts longer. What I usually do is combine the barley with one of the other 2 to get the best of both. My biochemistry doesn't seem to mesh nearly as well with either spirulina or chlorella, which other people seem to like. Hope this helps! Ty

I LOVE Probiotic Berry Green from New Chapter.
Kind of pricey, but it has so much good stuff in it, organic greens, fruit plus turmeric, ginger and probiotics. I actually llike the taste, and it is available at my local supermarket.

Exactly. I don't think they can guarantee it.
