Hi everyone, I've had 2 abnormal echos in the last 6 months that show my aortic valve is too thick. Does anyone know if this is related to lyme or one of the coinfections? I have had positive tests for lyme, babesia and rocky mountain so far. Anyone else had this thickening show up? And if so, did it get better with treatment?

I find mention of that in the article on Bartonella by James Schaller, MD entitled "Ignore Bartonella and Die":

My daughter and I both got MVP from Lyme/ Babs- hers was flappy but got better on Mepron!!!!!!!!!

valves mentioned in post on GMA site- ****************************************** Thank you ABC for airing this story. My story is like many others that have already posted their comments. I went misdiagnosed for over 20 years. Today I am left with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, disautonomia, and damage to 2 heart valves. When I finally found an Infectious Disease specialist in this state who is familiar with how to treat chronic late-stage lyme disease, the medical board has forced him out of business at the same time as he was blackballed by all the insurance companies. His big crime? Treating chronic lyme disease with long-term and/or IV antibiotics. I have found a doctor that is willing to try to help me, but this doctor has to be very cautious or the medical board will try to destroy their medical practice like they did for Dr. Jemsek who was the premier Infectious Disease specialist in our state for the treatment of AIDS and was brave enough to try to help those of us with lyme. Why do all doctors who try to help us lose their medical licenses? This has happened in state after state. I feel like a present day leper. Please do further investigation on this issue with an ILADS doctor. There is another side to this story. You could be saving many lives in doing so. Posted by: help4lyme 2:56 PM

You may find a difference with abx. A good product to use is rechts regulat from biopure.
The thread that has the UPenn article mentions heart problems & lyme.
