My story is a repost but I sent for my medical records and the blood work my doc did.

Lyme screen
Positive
Lyme WB IgG only 2 bands detected 41 and 23kDA negative
Lyme WB igM 2 bands detected 41 and 23kDa positive
ANA
negative
Sed rate 28 slightly elevated
HLA b27 not back yet
Anyone have any coments or info???

I got bit prob sometime in June. Had a swollen rash in the groin
area, swollen lymph nodes and flu like symptoms. Went to the Doc on
June 22, he put me on Doxy for 14 days. I felt better. Lyme test came
back neg.
Started feeling crappy in July. went back to the doc Aug 6 with
arthritis type pain all over my body and could barely get out of bed.
Doc put me back on doxy for 14 days. Retested for lyme and she did a
sed rate. Lyme came back pos and sed rate was slightly elevated at 28.

Never really felt 100 % after bite. Now I have pain in my back, neck
and hips, tired all the time and a dull headache that never goes
away. I feel like crap.
Went to the doc yesterday. Unbelievably he said he doesnt think its
the lyme!!! Gave me muscle relaxants and moore blood work... a sed
rate and a hla B27. They are not back yet. I feel like crap Ive been
in bed all day. I took the muscle relaxant (Tizanidine)just knocked
me out didnt help anything! Oh ya and he was nice enough to make an
appointment with a Rhumatologist in OCT!!! Im so frustrated. The doctor claims I cant have Lyme anymore.

I only had band IgM 23 come back positive via Quest Western Blot (didn't know about this site then).

However, I also had 45 out of 75 symptoms associated with Lyme.

Thanks to this board I was directed to a LLMD.

I am nearing my one year anniversary for treatment and continue to fight this battle

Against Lyme, bartonella, babesia, and other infections that Lyme has stirred up.

Please, please find yourself a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) so that

You can get on the road to getting better.

Hugs,

Geneal

My test results were the same as yours (through Quest)...IgM 23 and 41 band.

For 18 months I have been to numerous specialists (including second opinions for each), had a negative Lyme Elisa test and out of desperation, I asked a doctor to run the western blot.

Of coure I went to an ID doctor who treated me for 3 weeks and told me I should be cured. When I was still feeling horrible, he suggested it was in my head and that he didn't think I had Lyme afterall(oh, it is like a 'right of passage' for many of us).

Quickle educated myself and got to a LLMD who told me that 23 is specific for Lyme. My symptoms are atypical for Lyme so I had my doubts. Let's just say the horrid herxes I've been experiencing since on treatment confirms for me I have Lyme. However, it doesn't stop me from pursuing other potential issues.

Hope my story helps....

Hi Lynda, your story sounds much like mine, same response from my doctor, that was 2 years ago,I'm still dealing with fatigue, joint pain. Find yourself a LLMD, if your still having symptoms as you describe, you must be treated.
