Hey all,

I have been treated for Lyme for 12 weeks with IV Rocephin/IV Zith...

then switched the IV zith to IV Cleocin due to ear issues. A week after, I started to feel like I was backsliding and fast.

At first I thought herx, but I have been feeling bad for weeks now (after seeimg like I might be out of the woods). So discouraging...

After much research into co-infections, my doc and I have decided to switch meds to Bactrim, Biaxin, and mepron (as well as art) and nystantin for yeast.

Because I was forced to switch insurance, the new insurance won't cover extended IV meds. Are all these oral meds a good combo?

I've read all the thoughts on Bactrim making biaxin more effective and the necessity for a macrolide with mepron.

Wanted to see if this treament looked familiar to others. Taking my first doses tonight with fingers and toes crossed.

Thanks,
Hill

Sounds like a good combo to me! Be ready for some rough herxes though!

Looks like you are ready to really hit your babs.

This combo of meds helped me the most, even after several years of IV treatment.

Thank you so much for your responses. I am prepared for the worst, but always hopeful for the end.

Always,

I'm currently doing the Rocephin IV , into my third month. I had been taking flagyl but went off today because it was too toxic for me.

I was on biaxin and bactrim back in April/May of this year and did fine on both. I think I should have been on them longer and probably will take them again down the road.

I also took Mepron with Azithromycin for five months together and think that combo helped alot.
