Anyone have any explanations of the following results? I am assuming Lyme since I had a positve WB via Quest and symptoms. I'm awaiting IGenX results. However, I just got all of this back and (yet again) the MDs do not seem concerned. Previously (3 months ago...very healthy, fit)I had all "normal" numbers.
WBC (low) Hemoglobin (low) Hemacrit (low) Platelets (high) neutrophil (low) lymphocytes (high) monocyte (high) basophil (high) sed (high) This one I understand
I have found that a very good place to explain the various lab tests is labtestsonline.org .
The above link will take you to a page that has decsriptions of the various components of the CBC. (Complete Blood Count)
As for what it all means in your case? Sorry.. I cannot help you there as I am not qualified.
But the web site will give you a place to start.

What are the actual numbers and reference values? If you are slightly above or below the mornal ranges it may very well be normal but If there is significnat shift in the WBC ratios or total counts, this might provide some insight into a possible problem.

Numbers are really needed, I'd also be curious about the MCV, you obviously have or are borderline anemic. Also each lab produces its own normals derived statistically from the population they serve so their normal values might be a bit off from a web page value.

2 things I may be able to shed light on.
Your Hematocrit(red blood cell count) is slightly low meaning slightly anemic. Normal is usually 35+.
Your hemoglogin(hemoglobin is supposed to be about 1/3 of your hematocrit) is low because your hematocrit is low.
Hematocrit is the measure of the % of red blood cells in your blood.Example if your Hematocrit is 35% that means your blood contains 35% red blood cells. etc.
Hemoglobin measures the blood's ability is to carry oxygen.
In my experience docs dont freak out over 1-2 point higher or lower. I am not a doc though just a vet tech (lol)
Also here is a good quest link. You should be able to look up all of the tests. Look under CBC. It has helped me a lot. I am not sure about the rest of your labs. Good luck! Let us know what your docs say.

Wow. And I thought my WBC was really low. Actually ours aren't too far apart. Mine's been low since I can remember. Mine's usually 2.4, 2.5.
I have some other low scores like yours, too. My LLMD hasn't really said much about it.
I'm always worried about my WBC. But since it's been like that since when I was in high school, I don't really think too much of it. Though I would love for it to go up.
