Hi Jamie - Wish I had all the answers for you but it's a common problem. Soma, a muscle relaxant works pretty well for me - you might also try melatonin, aval.in health isle of most any drug store.
Your Dr can script you Trazadone - works well. I took it for awhile - but hated that it made me dizzy within 15 mins of taking it & slept almost coma like...I swear the house could burn down & I would have slept thru it. But it helped alot after a few nights in row where I didn't get much sleep.
You have to try a few things & see what works best for you & your system.
A hot epsom salt bath before bed helps also. Many take sleeping pills, they usually make me too tired the next day; but they may work for you. Talk to your Dr & see what he suggests.
Hoping you get a good nights sleep soon!

My angel LLMD found that Amtriptyline, aka Elavil, really helps many Lymed people with sleep disorders like early awakening sleep disorders where you wake up suddenly in the middle of the night and CAN'T sleep no matter what. He puts people on tiny doses like 10 mg!!! Some people higher!!

I've taken trazodone for 5 or 6 yrs. It's great! My dr gave me 50mg pills so I could adjust the dosage myself.
50mg is the lowest dose....and does not compare to the 10mg of elavil.
I can't sleep a wink without it....unless I take ambien! I used to have to take both and piled Flexeril and melatonin on top of that!

I'm taking Ambien ... I break a 10 mg. pill in half (it's not the time released kind) and take half at bedtime, then the other half when I wake up in the night. I'm sleeping much better. I get about 4 hours sleep from each half pill.
