It can infect bones because I know someone (3 someones actually!, a family) who were diagnosed thorugh bone marrow biopsies!!! But ehrlichiosis can too and can be associated
with deep bone pain in my experience-
but both Babs & Ehr/anaplasmosis can-

BABS is most often associated with rib pain because it affects the spleen so severely!!!

My spleen used to throb in agony- seriously. Had never even FELT my spleen my whole life before Babesiosis!!!!

GALLBLADDER can also cause rib pain!!
pain can be deferred from one side to another-

Parvovirus can also cause bone pain. I had this once, and it's a common co-infection of Lyme.

WIth parvo, you would also be anemic, as it hits the bone marrow and stops blood production.

We are sick with serious crud, guys!

I have had rib pain now and stiffness for quite some time, and now that i am on Babs treatment it has gotten better. Not all better, but huge improvement. I also had pain in my elbows, and tops of my shoulders. Those are gone completely.
All this time I thought it was Lyme, but it was most likely Babs.
Go figure..........

Recently there was a posting regarding Dr. Shaller's (sp?)new book on babesia.

In the exerpt he wrote that babesia was known to cause "severe rib pain".

I have that too. Not sure if it is all the babesia or the Lyme, or both.

Hugs,

Geneal
