I had the Western blot test.Clinical Lab Partners is the name on the test. then on another page it says Test performed by Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute in CA. Yes the test showed IgG Ab. P 18, 23 and 41. IgM Ab. 23. The Rheumatologist I saw said I had to have at least 5 IgG bands positive and the presence of 2 IgM bands present to be positive. I was p%&&*d! So I dumped her. What a waste of time. She only gave me a prescription for Doxy 100 mg twice daily for 30 days. So far it hasn't done a thing. Had Ceftin 500mg 3 times daily in June for 30 days and it seemed to be working. Don't know for sure though, was on Percocets also. That's the only thing keeping me together besides the Lexapro. I have no choice , the pain is too bad to give up the pain meds. Now I feel like a junky. Should I feel bad?

I would get retested, but don't waste your time with a doctor who is not an LLMD! As you already know, even if they give you meds, it's usually not enough of them. Besides, the criteria your doctor is mentioning, and incorrectly at that, is for tracking purposes ONLY, not diagnostic purposes. Lyme is a clinical diagnosis supported by testing.
LLMD's will treat you long enough and will treat for coinfections.
You're out east, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to see one ... I have to fly to see mine.

Sal,
Don't worry about needing to take pain medication. You need it.
But, I do recommend people with pain try to find a really good pain specialist to manage their pain treatment. Pain treatment is complex. If possible, you want to be on a non-narcotic that can control your pain daily, and then take the narcotic for break through pain when necessary.
This will lower the physical dependence your body builds to a narcotic, like percocet. Which means you will not need to increase the dose as much or build a resistance to it.
When used by people in pain, pain medications have a very low addiction rate. There is of course a greater risk if you have a predisposition to addiction.
A good pain specialist can also help connect you to other modalities, like physical therapy, acupuncture, or a psychologist specializing in pain coping techniques.
I just started working with a psychologist, and after 2 visits I'm amazed how easy and fast it is to reduce the pain you feel by using meditation. I've been in pain for 28 years, and never imagined I could do that.
My first pain specialist was good, but didn't believe I had Lyme. My new pain specialist is incredible and never questioned the Lyme diagnosis. I didn't offer test results, just handed him a referral from my LLMD that said Lyme on it.
Physiatrists are a pain management specialty that seem to be good. They seem to look at the body as a whole.
I hope this helps. And I hope your appointment with the LLMD goes well.

I wouldn't waste my money with retesting.
Band 23 is Lyme specific.
See what your LLMD recommends, however, that money could be spent
On supplements and probiotics. If you are symptomatic and have Lyme specific bands,
It is most likely Lyme disease. Remember it is a clinical diagnosis.
BTW, I tested via Quest and only had band IgM 23 come back positive.
My LLMD did not feel the need to retest as serology already did support my clinical
Diagnosis of Lyme disease.
Hugs,
Geneal
